I have no earthly idea how she can just switch so quickly and completely at will between massive amounts of distortion and grit to crystal clear tones. Her vocal agility and control is nothing short of miraculous.

Haley has called going through Idol 'a boot camp'. As far as connecting to the audience, during the show, that's what she said she had to adjust to. She was used to connecting to the audience during live performance, but w/ Idol she had to learn to perform for the camera. At Haley's 2019 Park West show, tables were set up about 12 feet away from the edge of the stage, by the 2nd song, Haley invited everyone to get up and come to the edge of the stage...

Just amazing, the whole thing is just a massive plus. Her stage presence is literally pouring off the screen. If you haven't she has a live from just a couple weeks ago, "I Put A Spell on You". Wow her vocals are SICK!!!(that's in a great way lol)

The year before Haley was a cast member of Idol, she auditioned but was ultimately rejected with randy Randy Jackson telling her to try again. (There was a palpable hostility between Haley and Randy the year she re-appeared and he made it hell for her.) She grew up in and around her parents rock band in the Chicago area, so I think that she and her sister were pretty comfortable on stage. When Haley was on Idol, she picked up a musical soulmate during that journey, Casey Abrams, the only contestant to every play an upright bass on the show, and they did a first on the show - a duet of the jazz song Moanin' which brought the house down. A couple of other firsts for her, the first was having her dad play lead guitar on her exit song and secondly falling on her ass during the performance. She also had the best cover of a country song (LeAnn Rhymes - Blue) which was the best country song of that season - and one that Randy panned and was totally bored with. He was such a sleeze. "Pick a lane". Her performances on the show are worth a review. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZili5qjbdloetk Jacob Scesney is a saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist (Xylophone here). My favorite reed instrument he plays is clarinet. He's a semi-permanent member of PMJ (as much as anyone is.)

"I'm really a fan of Floor's and her solo projects, which, after seeing her solo performances from her appearance on the Dutch tv show Beste' Zangers solidified my fandom of Floor and introduced me to Nightwish. So, to promote Floor I'm going to take the liberty of posting a selected playlist of live performances that I consider the most enjoyable for me from her catalog of solo projects. 2019 - Beste' Zangers Solo cover of "Shallow" (Lady Gaga) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2eboZhqlsRssM0 Duet cover of "Phantom of the Opera" w/ Henk Poort - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pp2mhJagq6mCgK8 2021 - solo Amsterdam Concert (On her channel she just released the entire 2 hour concert video this past week) Storm in a Glass - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZLbZqGJhadsqpo Slow, Love, Slow - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHOqaXqarrGMes0 2022 - Recently released singles from her upcoming 2023 solo album. There are music videos of these singles but I prefer the more organic live versions. All three venues provided excellent acoustics "Fire" - recorded at HLF8 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKLaeYCdpMR3mrM "Storm" w/orchestra - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpWkgWuDn8yblac "Me Without You" - First public performance - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGevnoWIYteaqdU (This reminds me thematically a bit of Don't Speak - it's a great breakup song of independence.) Bonus reel - Floor sings the phonebook - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX24o2R6gdx4h8k Regards.

@@queefreak666 Just a fan. As I am for several other vocalists. And if I find that a reactor hasn't reacted, yes I will share my thoughts. I'd do the same with Giulia Falcone or Diana Ankudinova or Haley if she hadn't been reacted to. But since the comment was not directed to you, why do you care? I started this post off with a comment about Haley. If any of this offends you - stop reading.

Haley is from a musical family. Dad taught her to scat before she could talk. It's been her life. Yeah, lots of time to develop and grow. Dad can really play the guitar, too! Her sister Angie is in a band called the AlrightMaybes". 😊 Yeah, she can sing as well....

Glad you finally noticed the Leslie Gore homage that was actually used twice in this but also there was a homage to the original video with the way Haley places her arms at the end , it's how Gwen is seen holding the apple.

Camile, with over 100s of guest vocalist and hundreds of KZbin videos to choose from, I hope you won't mind me pointing out some other artists to check out the PMJ videos. In alphabetical order Aubrey Logan Casey Abrams Chloe Feoranzo Grace Kelly Morgan James Niia (one of the very first vocalist featured) Puddles the Clown Robyn Adele Anderson Sara Niemietz And perhaps I've not mentioned ones that you might know and have an interest in - perhaps looking at their wiki will help too since it lists all those that have appeared on their videos. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postmodern_Jukebox There is some wonderful stuff there - and maybe a nugget of gold in finding a new vocalist or two that you find intriguing. They also put on a wonderful live show if you get the chance. Regards,

@@camilemckitrick8783 haha, choice is the spice of life, but had you just started looking through the PMJ catalog, well now that would have been overwhelming - possible paralyzing. I could have just named two (Niia & Morgan James) or just suggested looking through the PMJ/Haley Reinhart (you'd get some of those listed in group vocalists) - she is my favorite. But don't feel you have to do all the heavy lifting - are their artists you think worthy of sharing with me? I'm up for discovering new artists.Regards,

Thanks for another thoughtful reaction. I could go on all day about Haley’s vocal brilliance, stage presence, and charisma. (In fact, I have-just yesterday, and the day before…). I got to see her perform live recently, and that’s an experience that’s not to be missed. If you ever get the opportunity, jump on it. She has such respect for the material, the audience, and all the other musicians. Among her special qualities is her willingness to let the people around her shine. Let's just say.. Idols was never planning to let her win, so she did not win, but rather some generic pop singer did, no disrespect towards that pop singer tho, but totally outclassed by Haley to say the least. And let's be honest, eventho Haley deserved to win, and should've won, it turned out better for her career that she did not win. She loves old-timey music, she ofc can do pop music if she really had to, but her soul is "old" and she would not have been happy doing that, but thnx to not winning, she remained a free agent and has been making the music she loves and wants to make, which is so much better than the majority of modern music you hear today, from far bigger names, than she has.

another great reaction PC. although haley reinhart has gotten more refined and polished with postmodern jukebox, she most certainly had this authentic character and unique vocal capabilities (i.e. rasp, growls, breathiness, etc) when she performed on american idol. i recommend that you react to her cover of "house of the rising sun" that is considered one of the best performances ever on that show. similar to her work with pmj, she completely reinterprets the iconic classic into a slowed down bluesy version but still maintains all the deep soul of the original by eric burdon and the band. it is located here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2fHqYGpjLKVlac
