I used a heat gun on mine solder and all and the hdmi plastic melted but didn't budge.

make sure air flow should be between 30-40 and temprature should be 400c or more and use little extra flux as much as you can, hope it will help you. good luck

@MobileMasterHawthorn I figured it had to either be temperature or air flow that I got wrong. I'll use your advice well. Thanks again.

What kind of solvent did you use to take the hdmi port off? I see the heat gun but what is the stuff you put on the port to take it off?
@AshleyGarcia-sy5zmАй бұрын
And why do you need copper tubing to take it off?

It's called flux and a desolderin braid
@combatwombat59412 күн бұрын
The "solvent" is flux. It keeps the solder from running everywhere. The "copper tubing" is solder wick. It wicks up solder so you can remove it from places it's not needed, or replace solder that is already there

Those HDMI's are £5 on Amazon. Are you saying you want to clean it up and put the old one back in ??
@combatwombat59412 күн бұрын
I tried myself, and honestly, it's worth it to just get the new port

if you're in there that deep why not clean out all the dust while you're at it.
@JamesThomas-vt4ndАй бұрын
I agree because there’s a lot of dust around the heat sink and other components in the system
@44.caliberbrainsurgery6318 күн бұрын
I always clean a device if I disassemble it. Depending on how deep I go, I also repaste the device.
@beemore188 күн бұрын
Wtf, no way did you reassemble that unit without removing the dust and shit. That is piss poor customer service. Do better ffs.
@lillahx18032 күн бұрын
yeah ik ik but youd find almost all repair places like this only do their fix for their money. they arent getting paid to dust
