This was helpful, I was scared that the battery went bad after not turning it on in around a year. I went PCMR and hardly touch my old PSVITA or PS3 anymore but they do still offer a lot of fun and memories.

@@bartbarnett2811 Back when I first had it, GTA Vice City and vice city stories were on the app store. I checked recently and now they're all gone. They've removed a lot of games, so unless you had it before hand, I believe there's no way to get it again. Hopefully I'm wrong?

Phew that's a relief! Thanks for this reasurring video! I did have a panic on there for a while. I've just bought a second hand ps vita off Ebay. It's in pristine condition so I didn't think there could be anything wrong with it, and I got the flashing orange light too. This video has put my mind to rest....it's flashing away right now, but only had it on 10 minutes so far. The Ebay description said barely used, but looking at it I would say never used, so knew it couldn't be much to worry about.

I must have a different model because the PS logo doesn’t turn orange on mine, but the charging indicator that is orange while charging would flash when I tried to turn it on. I kind of figured this was all it was, but it’s nice to have confirmation lol

If you think your Vita is DEAD, Connect the charging cable to your PS4!!! I took my Vita out after over a year and plugged it into my iPad charging brick in the wall. Nothing. No lights or anything. Plugged it into my PC...again, nothing. Plugged it into my PS4 and powered it on (from stand-by mode) and presto! Flashing orange light...at least something! Left it for a good hour and thank god it turns on again. I thought it was dead for sure. I read this somewhere else that if you connect a seemingly dead Vita to a PS4, it will come back to life. Strange, but it works.

I never had one, but I walked by one today in a thrift store window. It was marked not tested for $20 with no charger. I offered 10 and they accepted. Went over to GameStop and found an oem charger + usb cable set for 5 bucks. I was concerned when the usb did nothing in my carport charger but I got a blinking light plugging it into my computer. Exploring it I found a 32gb memory card and black ops declassified. I think my money is there if push comes to shove, but I’m hoping it turns on when I come back from a few hours out. I’m leaving it connected to the computer instead of the wall chargers in hopes that a trickle charge won’t fry the battery in case it’s close to complete failure. The only reason I assume it’s a slower charge is because I looked up if they charge via usb, and I read that they do but it has to be off, hence less potential (in theory) I mean I may be wrong, I’m no electrician… yet

GTA 5 doesn't exist for playstation vita, only for ps3 and 4. There are some gta games though for vita but they are only available through the playstation store

In my case(vita slim) it only worked when connecting to the charger and not my laptop (even though the indicator showed it was charging)

Computers usually only put out a small amount of power so it's always better to charge with the regular charger
