It also sounds like audible symbolism for adulthood: mellowed out and down to earth, and EP’s cast consists of adults sans Tatsuya (though his experiences in the previous game have matured him). In contrast, IS’s theme is loud and energetic, much like a teenager. Which is fitting, since the majority of the cast sans Maya and Yukino are teenagers.

There are multiple possible interpretations that can explain the differences between the IS and EP themes, which is great because it means you're more able to have your own understanding of it. I always saw it as a purposefully incorrect memory of the Other Side - the skeleton is basically the same since there are a lot of similarities between both Sides, yet some details were altered to avoid helping you remember the Other Side perfectly. After all, EP is focused on preventing the people from remembering the Other Side's events, so what better way than to distort the songs that gave it character?

once in the laboratory in Nanjo's route, I ran into a random encounter, with the 5 enemies attacking first. One enemy uses maha hamon killing 2 party members, and the 3 left got kamikazed before I could revive anyone 10/10 a true masterpiece

Because they have no reason to be in Persona 3 or Persona 4s story line. Like how P1 and P2 cast were together in a game and the P3 and P4 were together in multiple games, my guess is that the P5 crew and (If they get this far) P6 crew will meet each other
