PS2 Fat model comparison "excluding the 10000 and early 30000 models"

In this video I compare 3 out of the 5 variations of the PS2 fat models, don't expect a Slim variation cause I traded my silver 90001 model with my friend Fazedoomguy for the 30001 R back, he prefers slim model consoles so that's why.

My 30001 model is still running just fine I bought it at launch countless hours of use and has never failed me the disc drive still works just fine and it even survived my bad habits from when I was a kid and kept my PS2 on overnight when I forgot to turn it off maybe it was just like but idk

@@believebecomedc3825 😀nice. Yea they're a bit louder because of the fan in these models but they keep things nice and cool and they seem to be the best version of the phat model since they read ps1 and blue bottom ps2 disc pretty good.

Tbh, as far as PS2 fat model goes. 39001 is generally agreed as the best PS2 fat model since it has a more reliable laser inside despite the fan being noisy as hell. 50001 is pretty quieter, and while the lasers inside of them are good. Those models suffer from that Rare Mechacon issue if you put in a badly burned media(like Memorax) or a scratched disc causing the laser burned out prematurely and or causing the drive chip itself to fried up. But I’m sure that are plenty of people that still owns a fully functional 50001 model to this day.

I only have the 50001 model which I spray painted gray to make it look like the PlayStation 1 fat... and I'm proud of my work the other two one I sold to a friend in my local town the other I sent to another friend who lives in another state all together

That was informative! I've got 2 PS2's today -- 30004 and 30004R and was curious what was the actual difference. They are different outside and inside, but the non R version is made in Japan (that's on the label).So, now I know which one to keep for me (the Japan one, of course :))

They are the same model, the only difference is that the R models where bundled with a Network adapter

@@tomasdelizia3695 It's not the only difference as I said. The cooling inside is different, the plastic housing is different as well. The laser is different as someone told me (I haven't checked it for now). I think I blowed the PSU of the R version last time I opened it :D

30001R, the letter R stands for remote control support and the DVD driver turns out as version 2.10U

The 39001 has the most reliable laser, more than the 50001 although that one is faster at loading discs
