Could you please do a video on the set up ? Thanks 🙏 Brother

Thanks for watching. There is already a video on YT about setting up PS2 LAN games; see the description for the link. It's a lot more polished and professional than anything I could manage!

Bro it's 2019 why are you filming in 4:3 480p? Appreciate the video, though.

Thanks for watching. I am using a 12 year old budget camcorder. As I rarely make videos, I cannot justify the cost of upgrading and just use what I have. Hopefully the video will inspire some more professional System Link demonstrations.

@@RJAY63 just use ür phone xD so how do you connect that cables? Just put in router or what?
@RJAY634 жыл бұрын
@@tingel-tangelbob3122 I connected the PS2's via cross-over cable to avoid using a router. However if you only have standard ethernet cables or wish to have 3-4 players, you will need to use a router. I only have a basic "dumb" mobile phone and it's rarely used so I cannot justify any upgrades (I don't have the money anyway!). I'll have to leave it to others to produce better quality videos.

Nice! I haven't tested out lan on PS2 before but it seems pretty nice

It's been a while since I came across ypur iLink videos. My nephews and I had some good times on ATV Off-Road Fury 4. Unfortunately, for NTSC-U/C as I understand it, we didn't get LAN play for Moto GP4 but I'll be getting the PAL version installed for that as well as a modded NTSC-U/C version for its resurrected online MP. Ford vs Chevy NTSC-U/C also has resurrected online play. Thanks for the video uploads. 👍 A question I have yet to settle here: did the Gaelic games support iLink or ethernet LAN multiplayer? Read indications there was one or two titles that did. Gonna be testing an EyeToy camera functionality for the likes of AFL Premiership 2005 (also online-resurrected & supports up to 2-P per online console) as well as a Tony Hawk online game to see if [my face] can be uploaded to either/both of those or, otherwise, if there's a face uploader file insertion ~hack. ....PES for PS2 is quite active online as well with some mods available for rosters. 🍻 Game On!

I do not think any of the PS2 'Gaelic games' titles have either iLink or LAN system link play.

Hey, I’ve been looking to get this set up as well. Do I need two copy’s of the same game in each console or just one in one of them? Also, is a crossover cable different from a Ethernet cord?
@RJAY632 жыл бұрын
You need 2 copies of the game (one disc in each console). A 'crossover cable' looks identical to a standard ethernet cable however it is wired differently.

Is a PC Monitor on the right? How did you connect the PS2?
@RJAY634 жыл бұрын
Both PS2 are connected to the TV's with an RGB SCART cable. Both TV's are standard CRTs that are larger than standard PC monitors (although the resolution is lower). The PS2's are connected to each other by a crossover cable (plugged into the sockets of the console's Network adapters joining them together)

@@RJAY63 Thanks, Man. It seemed to me that the right screen was a PC Monitor.

I heard you cant play LAN if your playing the game from a HDD is that true?
@RJAY635 ай бұрын
I did manage it but I haven't done extensive tests (no idea how consistent/reliable HDD use is for LAN play). I do know I was unable to get Ford Vs Chevy to work without the physical discs.
@agallagher59365 ай бұрын
@@RJAY63 thanks for the reply. Yeah i want to play time crisis via LAN, but I only have one game disc, so I'd have to import another one if HDD LAN is not possible which would be a bit annoying

Generally can you mix regions when using System Link?
@RJAY634 жыл бұрын
I have never tried this so no idea if it would work. I know you would run into problems mixing PAL and NTSC games if the video refresh differs (PAL titles that run at 50hz with no 60hz option probably couldn't work with their NTSC equivalents).

Do you need an internet router for LAN Combined Assault?
@RJAY633 жыл бұрын
I used a 'crossover cable' to link my PS2s together. My 'Fat' PS2s both have a broadband adapter installed to make this possible (Slims PS2s have the broadband adapter built in). However if you want to link 3 or more PS2's this way then you would need a router of some kind,

Hello, i was hoping to watch your in depth video but its set to private.
@RJAY634 жыл бұрын
I didn't make that particular video; I only linked to it. I do not know why the uploader set it to private but that's their decision unfortunately. I will remove the link from the description.
