PS2 Review: Final Fantasy X

Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 are games that hold a special place in my heart. I first played Final Fantasy X when I was just a boy of 14 years old back in 2002 and have since re-bought it multiple times. I currently own copies on PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One and while the newer versions do look fantastic, the originals for PlayStation 2 still remain my favorite among all. Might be nostalgia speaking, but they made subtle changes I am not a big fan of, such as Tidus' appearance... Your review is very informative, nice to listen to and the fact that you gave some background information on what the franchise and this particular game mean to you is something I really appreciate. One of my favorite FFX Games. It's such a shame we never got to see the Conditional Turn Battle system again

Considering that there are only two FFX games in existance, that isn't saying much.

FFX is my favorite; simply because of the story. X had the best story imo. As far as gameplay goes that belongs to FFXII.

Tidus is fine. It's the Raiden problem all over again, too similar to the player who would rather play someone much older and cooler.

This and 9 are probably my favourite Final Fantasys. I love 6 and 4 too though, it's hard to choose only one

I would highly recommend the HD version on PS4. It is well worth it because it has everything the original game had and more - plus it doesn't force you to listen to an arranged soundtrack like the PS3 version. It's well worth it, plus you can get every FF from 7 on on PS4/5. Having them all in a nice neat folder is so convenient and an awesome way to play the series!

Just got the Samsung 22 ultra and can finally play my rip with widescreen at 3x res. This game makes me want to play it every one I think about it recently lol

Do you play all ps2 games in 16:9 aspect ratio or is that just the recording? I'm just curious, great vid!

Because of how my TV is set up, I do indeed play all PS2 games at full screen on a small wide screen TV. I'm not 100% sure if my TV is a 16:9, but yeah.

That's sad Squaresoft died as a developper. Only publishing other studio's game or living on its past glory.

The last final fantasy as far as I'm concerned 😞 it really turned to crap after this one (I hear XI and XIV are actually quite good but they're just not the same as regular entries, for obvious reasons).

XII and XIV were pretty good but XIII and XV were complete and utter garbage, you shouldn't play XV unless it's free and you should never play XIII under any circumstance
