PS2 Review: Final Fantasy XII

My friend played this while we were in college. It was my copy that I’d never finished. He put in 125 hours to 100% this game... in 10 days. He absolutely crushed it. I pulled up my file with around 75 hours and put in another 25 and actually finished. Great game. Probably the most underrated in the FF series.

Zodiac Job System has some issues like not letting you fully optimize party members and giving spells that Id want my mages to have to other classes.

This game has a few bugs that are fixed in the re-releases (Greatest Hits and Platinum). And it is not slowed down for Europe, so all versions run at the same speed, which is always nice.

My absolute favorite Final Fantasy. I actually don't really like the Zodiac Age version, which just didn't come together for me with everything that was added and changed netting up to a worse version of the game (in my opinion), so I stick with my dying PlayStation 2.

I hated this game on ps2 but i replayed it on a hacked ps3 and finished it on pc with the remaster My opinion on it got better over time, the worst part of the game or the story is the inclusion of Vaan, you could cut him out out and nothing would change

I don't like THE Zodiac Age because they dropped the customization of the original. Choosing their jobs at the start is not the same as experimenting with different weapons

This game taking place in Ivalice and it's cutscenes are it's only good points for me. Story, gameplay, characters and music are all so lacking. You're better off watching cutscenes of this game online since even if you buy it, you won't get to play it. The game plays itself unless you disable Gambits, you know, this game's big new mechanic?! It's the first Final Fantasy I didn't even want to bother finishing. Definitely my least favourite and I've played them all so far besides X-X2, the MMOs and the XIII trilogy. I even liked 15 more. At least you do get to actually play that one, it's music is great and characters have a point and you get attached to them. It's world was fun to explore too. 12's world is a mess. For Ivalice, I'll stick to the Tactics series.

You have too much "emphasis" on "HOw You Feel" about the details. Reviewers for games need to remember, this isn't a 30 minute episode on "ANALYTICALLY" praising or ripping apart the game. Its just a synopsis review, not a detailed breakdown. Only do that if necessary, and when you do, do it, make sure you hit the highlights and the lows. i went into a mental trance listening to this dude's voice. Did anyone learn anything from watching Xplay or Attack of the Show? Seems like CGRUndertow did. Remember: Bounce. Hit the highs, hit the lows (pros vs cons), What's good, what's bad, what they could have improved on, anything new or different from their previous games. Only go into DEEP details if you're making references to other games or to the company itself. Or its sibling games like Resident Evil referencing Dino Crisis in comparison.
