PS2 - The Javelin Experience

The javelin. Deemed by many who've used it as the worst vehicle in the game. It's low hp pool and resistance stats render it completely defenseless against almost all forms of weaponry. Even the measly basilisk shreds it to pieces in no time. It's offensive capabilities aren't great either. It's only onboard weapon, the NEST which takes the utility slot away from fire suppression, barely deals more damage than two barrages worth of rocklets. And that's if the unreliable misslet ai hits it's mark. Not only that but it has an 8 second reload, the longest vehicle weapon reload in the game, with no weapon attachments to even shorten it. Even the rumble seat isn’t too helpful, having a huge deadzone in the front to stop you from shooting directly ahead of the javelin. So what happens when you sink hundreds of hours into this thing?

I run general ha meta like assimilate, asc/survivalist and nanoweave/symbiote which can work on a javelin against infantry, but for my javelin I run at least jockey 4 to survive ap/halberds with 50-100 hp to spare, and bionics so I can run c4 instead of medkits. You'll get a lot more out of asc than nanoweave when running both of those implants of course.

Why were you using bionics what was its use?

I used to run it with advance shield capacitor and c4. You used to have just enough survivability to get in and out of fights and asc would fully regen shields by the time you went back in. Now you have to run nanoweave over asc and the only reason I take bionics is to run c4 over medkits. You aren't going to get healing from any source other than yourself when driving these and you want to be fully topped off on health before you get shot at again.

I haven't played PS2 in a while, but I would've thought the Javelin would have the same amount of health as a Flash. That being said, I would have to say that reload time for the weapon is quite insane, and not in a good way!

I didn't know you could do windows. Almost a LA gameplay. I found that the delay to turning makes it impossible to fire long range with it. Stupid controller input delay(flight mechanics) that were implemented has ruined that. C4 passby drops against harassers is fun. I prefer engy because the stealth+repair C4 thing gets me kills with an archer for hillpopping vehicles, and a defense bubble turret(good spitty) or AV turret to fire twice before switching to archer.

Anything works on a javelin, but highlight is that you can choose the range of engagements with your improved mobility. Infils work well on it too being able to leave it as a distraction or bait while also using it to get in high and far places.

I think the Javelin needs a buff. It's guns are pretty useless. A flash is far better honestly.
