Hello, with games over 4GB you'll have to either split the file (from memory Multiman on the PS3 can do this but you may need an extra USB drive setup with exFAT format) or you can find tools online to format a large external HDD to exFAT (not typically the best format for large drives but it should work). I assume you need a "jailbroken" PS3 to make this work? I'm looking into buying a PS3 to play PS2 and PS3 games off of an external HDD. The one I own now is too new to be flashed back far enough. This seems to be what I'm looking for. Can this be used to "rip" a disc to the HDD for storage though? That's a big feature for me. I hate looking for discs. FAT32 format will allow files over 4GB in size. However, it'll not allow one file that is over 4GB in size. If I remember correctly, you need to find the disc copy of the game and split it when you back it up via multiMAN.

Some games you have to backup using a disc and tell MultiMAN to split the files. Then it'll have files less than 4GB in size to suit FAT32.

Hi , I notice on Multiman there is an option to toggle between NTFS and fat32 drivers for your HDD, so in other words you can enable multiman to read ntfs drives. My quesion is how exactly do you do that cause I toggled between the formats and i got the hdd to show up but it showed two files(usb000 and usb001) when I click either of them, there is a loading icon which loads forever and i have to exit multiman to get it to stop. so my question is how to get multiman to read ntfs hdd's? I don't have space on my other hdd to back up my ext hdd's content

+Lizo Gqomfa I'm not too sure why it loads forever because it's almost instant on my console. I know that this feature is only for copying games from the NTFS HDD and is not for playing the games from it. You'll still require a FAT32 drive if you want to play them externally. Say for instance can we install package files through the main menu and have them install on an external hard drive? +Random TV Yes. Press triangle on the game you want to copy from your ext hard drive, click Copy, select HDD0 (internal hard drive) and wait for it to copy. Once done, you'll see two of that game, one with USB written under it and one with HDD written under it. The USB copy is your ext hard drive and the HDD copy is on your internal. :)

+Kerry Kushetsky The reason for that is because some of the game data is above 4GB in file size. FAT32 (the format of your HDD) is only able to hold a 4GB file maximum. Think of it like this: FAT32 creates hundreds of 4GB partitions on your HDD instead of one huge chunk and the maximum that one partition can hold without splitting the file is 4GB. I believe that Multiman has it's own way of splitting files but I'm not sure if it allows the game to run if it is split. Also, I think there isn't a limit to the biggest external HDD you can use. I use a 1TB drive and that is plenty for hundreds of games (most games are around 6GB but some are 20GB+ like Uncharted)

Kerry Kushetsky That may be a problem with that version of Rebug. Try contacting the Rebug team about it because they may need to investigate into that to fix it. I use Rebug 4.70.1 because that's always been compatible with everything I've used so you could try moving to 4.70.1

+Francis Sierra If you mean to install Multiman to use afterwards then you'll need to download this: store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=24 put the .pkg file onto the root of a USB drive. Put the USB drive into a USB slot on your console and open the install package files option on your XMB. Then choose to install the Multiman pkg. :)

+Francis Sierra You have to use a E3 Flasher unless your PS3 is a version with a NAND chip. Check the back of your console for the end of the serial number.
