There is another option. Looking at webman and multiman there is PS3 Netserv. When set up, stuff can be directly loaded from a network drive via ethernet from a PC or NAS. Obviously this requires some set-up.... another one for you to do a step-by-step video ;-)

One correction: PKG does NOT need to be copied over to the internal hard drive as it can be installed TO the internal hard drive from USB. RAP file DOES need to be copied to internal drive.

Thanks. In this video though I've concentrated on using the NFTS drive which I don't think the package manager can access directly. But you're right that a normal FAT32 drive can be used for the package install.

Hi, would you recommend i buy a PS3 "fat" with 80gb storage for CFW or a PS3 "Slim" with 160gb or 320gb storage for HEN? Are there any tangible differences between installing cfw over hen?
@BytesNBits3 күн бұрын
To be honest, if you're just going to be using the console to play PS3 games there's no real difference. The CFW does allow you to play PSP games more easily and a few other lower level tasks but you'll probably never miss them. PS3HEN does require 1 extra button press when you boot up but if you can cope with that..... :)

Hi, I would have liked to comment below the video tutorial to increase the speed of GBA games emulated on old 3ds, but comments are disabled. After adding the GBA Bios, when I start a game the 3DS stays stuck with both white screens. is there any solution?
@BytesNBits9 күн бұрын
Make sure you've renamed the bios file and put it in the right place. Also make sure it's unzipped and a valid file. Other than that there's not much else to check.

Running games directly from USB seems like a great option. I'd be interested if anyone's done some comparisons for load times between internal storage and external USB drive.
@BytesNBits9 күн бұрын
I think both internal and USB speeds beat the internal DVD drive speeds but I would guess that internal hard drive would beat USB port. It's only a USB2 port.

I noticed some of the heavier demanding games run noticeably worse from USB, they run much better after installing onto the internal hard drive.
@brianstuntman43688 күн бұрын
@@A-Z123I'll keep that in mind. At least we have the option to use both USB and internal.

@@brianstuntman4368 yes the smaller ps3 games run absolutely fine, when I say demanding games I mean like warhammer 40k or resistance fall of man. The smaller games like wwe Allstars, Blur and all ps2 games run flawless right off usb.

@@BytesNBits Excellent! I just got a 'legally obtained backup' lol, playing it now :-) I remember this from XBox I think. Back in the old DOS days around 1994-95 I was playing the original Need For Speed in DOS on a 50MHz 486. The game and graphics blew me away at the time. My favourite type of action racer is the Burnout series, unfortunately only Burnout Paradise is on PS3 and it's not the best one in the series which is probably Burnout Revenge or Burnout 3 Takedown. Years ago I picked up original discs for those on PS2 for 5 bucks each. I'm waiting until you do the PS3 running PS2 games vid then I will look into running those on this PS3 even though I have 4 working PS2's it's fun just playing around.
@@BytesNBits when you do the PSP thing be sure to show using a real PSP as a controller for PS3 games if you have a real PSP. It's pretty amazing.

I use ISO-Files on my 2x 2TB External SSDs at the same time on my PS3 Super-Slim and it works. It has only 2 USB-Ports on the front. I can't plug in my Controller to it to charge the Controller, maybe a USB-Hub will work, or there will be an Issue with the USB-Power delivery. On the internal 1TB SSD-Drive there are only Updates, DLCs, Digital only Games and some necesseray game files which are installed automatically when you start a new game. Around 300 Games will fit, with this method. They all work without problems. 1TB on the second SDD is free, but I can't use it, because the internal is already full with extra files. I don't use mechanical HDDs because they need more power and also can get broke when you move them while they are accessing files on them.

If you covert your own folder games to .ISO, you'll never need a key. I've never needed a RAP or key file.

13:38 I got another error when using ISO. This seems to be very common but no one actually knows how to fix it. I got so many of them but I think it was 80010017. I was able to solve this by manually mounting the iso on a PC as a disc and then simply transferring the files from the virtual BD-ROM disc and putting them into the ps3's GAMES folder using FTP and a wired network cable for the fastest transfer :-) I think the isos have the wrong folder structure where the game folders from the original disc are in an extra made-up folder (the game name) instead of being in the root of the disc in a BLUSxxxxx etc folder.

Thanks for the tip. I haven't come across that issue yet.

Hi guys. Thanks for the feedback. @iamyashraj I mention the USB3 connection so you get the best transfer from PC to hard drive. As the other guys mention the hard drive to PS3 is only USB2, but that's still compatible with the USB3 drive.

@@josephnealescratchcards i was giving him some time to reflect on his question. A 3.0 disk is backwards compatible and will work on ps3's 2.0 ports under 2.0 speeds. Unless he's a serious modder that managed to upgrade his ps3. U never know.
