Blaine - you're missing a big piece of this setup that I think a lot of people would like to know how to do. After you install Retroarch and have your ROMs loaded, you should show us how to set up Retroarch on the XMB version with the thumbnails and scanning of the directories etc. It looks so much better when you have the online database pull all of the box arts!

@@116gamers seriously man? It's not that easy. I hear one of the main developers left the PS4 hacking scene, so they've been setback. Also I hear the 7.55 JB isn't all that reliable. Anything building from that will also be unreliable. I'm not saying it can't be done, but have some patience and don't expect the moon when it arrives.

Hi, I installed RetroArch on my ps3 console and I can’t find any N64 cores in cores lists. I tried to find also in the Core Downloader list but there is nothing for the n64, 3ds, and PlayStation consoles cores 😢 I don’t know how to find these cores. Maybe someone that can link a zip folder with every cores into it, maybe I can put into my ps3 manually

Very nice video! Thanx for that! I got a question: The emulator for Nintendo 64 (for example: muppen64plus) ist not listed in the PS3 retroach update menu. When i choose "online updater" - " load core", there is a bunch of cores, but nothing for the N64, neither for PS1, PS2 or PSP. I had such a problem, but unfortunately I don't remember how I solved it, something like the correct distribution of files,folders, or reinstall the emulator (I always keep the installation pkg retroarch in stock) try to run it through other snes9x, snes9x2005plus , snes9x2010.

Which system(s) and game(s) are you trying to run? I think, maybe, the most common missing assets are going to be the needed system BIOS files. Also, RetroArch can be - fickle - about how it wants those BIOS files to be named. I'd say maybe look for a set online that's specific to RetroArch, as some BIOS sets are for other emulators with different specific naming requirements.

@@davidgill7412 once I realized you can play Vita on the TV it was a game changer for me. I like the portability of handhelds but staring at small screens (i.e. smartphones and whatnot) gives me a headache. I was really surprised none of the Vita games pixelate on my 65" TV. With all of the exploits available, Vita is probably my favorite console right now as weirdly as that sounds.

you can already play ps2 games, just add the games iso to the 'PS2ISO' folder located withing 'dev_hdd0' and they should appear in your games list in multiman or irishman you can acquire said games from vimm's lair

@@richarddonaldson330 I don't think it's that. There's quite a few things preventing it from happening: 1. All the mini consoles so far use a ARM processor on the low end 1.2 GHz. The problem with this is N64 emulation has never really run well on ARM architecture. 2. The controllers would be too expensive. They are so big and plastic filled. Also would they they have the rumble pack or built-in rumble. Nintendo would make a killing selling controllers but just 1 controller would be increasing the size of the box this increasing the cost of the system. 3. Licencing certain games. RARE is owned by Microsoft and it would be difficult to get their games for the mini. Goldeneye would be especially nightmarish to untangle those rights

Hi Blaine, Your guides are great! I have a question: Is it possible to install cores for PSX (e.g. pcsx_rearmed or swanstation) on Retroarch installed on PS3? In the menu, "Download Cores" they (and many others) are not available for installation on PS3. Is it possible at all? Yes, I know that multiMAN can play PSX and PS2 games, but is it possible to use Retroarch on PS3 to emulate PSX games?

My CECH-2001A is stuck. I replaced the HDD, formatted it to NTFS, then added the 196mb PS3UPDAT.PUP to USB (fat32) PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP I get "The system storage cannot be accessed". Even the old HDD gives me this error. Do I have the correct System software? Could my updat be from the wrong region? Can I just install HEN/reBug without installing 4.88 ofw?
