PS3 Rockband 3 MIDI to USB adapter

In this video I wanted to show how much fun a musician can have in the new Rockband 3. With the addition of MIDI to USB adapter (by Midicats), I was able to hook my Lucina to the PS3 and actually play notes in order to play along with the songs. Definitely a lot more fun than just playing colored buttons that have no real musical function.

I’ve got several adapters that I use for drums and guitars etc.. I can play real drums, guitar and keyboard with the game… Worth a mention the adapters also work with rock band 4 on the ps5 but only for pro drums , no instruments other than drums

Amazing, great to see real music talent hit rock band, now show you skills on hardest possible pro mode, I'd like to see how difficult it gets cos you made that mode look a bit too easy. Great job btw.

@tool26 1) i dont know 2)normally you can yeah 3)All midi keyboards (called controllers) should work, but you can't really tell as no one has tested them all. Theres a few that do not have MIDI ports however, only usb, which will not work 4)If the Yamaha has midi ports it should work 5)You need to plug it in the OUT port of your midi controller. MIDI OUT means it will be sending midi messages OUT to another device (ie. Xbox/PS3/Wii). @leandro17R i think only the squier is compatible.

Nice job showcasing the device! I'm curious, have you ever tested the adapter on a computer and plugged in a keyboard? I'm wondering whether or not it would work. Or is it only compatible with Rock Band 3?

Questions : I hesitate between getting the PS3 Keyboard, but getting a real keyboard is a great option, since I can play music for real, not only for a game. So... 1) Is the Key mode (not the Pro Keys mode) works also with the real keyboard ? 2) Can you play like the whammy bar w/ your keyboard and does it work with all real keybords ? 3) Are there keyboards without MIDI ports that doesn't work w/ the adapter ? dude your adaptator is "MIDI TO MIDI" NOT "MIDI TO USB" my keyboard doesnt have a MIDI port but just a USB port....
