Is there a way of changing the touch strip and reversing it so the pitch goes up when sliding to the right instead of the pitch going down?
@sdasda77773 жыл бұрын
I modified one program I found so that you can just connect it wirelessly as an XBOX 360 controller and it outputs the data to selected MIDI output channel. It's somewhere on github, I think.

It's not working for my Logic Pro X, could you help me? I'm using an audio interface that supports midi in n out, but still, somehow it's not reproducing the sound from my sample libraries inside Logic Pro X. Are there any settings I should check?

Question from the back. What software would you use to actually play music on the keyboard? I've got MuseScore but that seems to be for writing musical scores, not making music with a keyboard.

Sorry if I'm a little late to the party, but I tried this out (same Xbox keytar) with a similar Midi to USB converter, but the keytar doesn't recognize itself as being plugged in. I know the keytar works (plugging it into my audio interface), and I know that the cable works (plugging it into another midi compatible keyboard), but once I plug the keytar in, it starts flashing the green light like it's trying to connect to something. I think the keytar is just not recognizing the cable as a midi cable, but that's just what I've determined through trial and error. BTW I'm trying to get this working so that I can have my computer in my bag hooked up to a portable speaker and the keytar so I can --annoy-- perform on the go, so if that ends up working out I'll be incredibly happy, and my friends will be incredibly music-ed. Any help is appreciated, and thanks in advance -J
@SoExcited5302 жыл бұрын
the issue may or may not be within your computer's external device settings. depending on what operating system you use, you might have to enable or tweak the external device (specifically midi connection) settings.

If your MIDI adapter is one of the Wersi-based ones that you can get on Amazon, the ones with the blue activity light, they can't pair with the Rockband keytar unless you connect an LED across the MIDI line. The reason for this is that the MIDI interface doesn't have a diode that is part of the MIDI hardware spec. The keytar relies on having that diode present in order to detect that it's plugged in. I just opened up the MIDI adaptor and soldered an LED onto the circuit board, but you can also put it inside the shell of the MIDI connector or even inside the keytar.

@mkiswatoo3 жыл бұрын
no
@TheLokiBiz3 жыл бұрын
no aftertouch, but it is touch sensitive - I picked one up for like 10 bucks on Facebook Marketplace - Since Rock Band and Guitar Hero were suuuuch a huge fad, but nobody gives a shit about them anymore, these things are everywhere and are just dirt cheap - Way cheaper than any other midi controller you're gonna find.

Don't make a tutorial if you're gonna waste people's time with silly jokes. It's not funny. No one is here to laugh, people are here because they are struggling to do a task. Edit: I should of been more precise then. This keytar really is legit. It's very selective however on what quality midi cable it will work with, otherwise it will shut down. Be sure to research if the cable you get is compatible/resistence level is ideal.
@truesoundwave3 жыл бұрын
@@ryanpowell9003 No I don't, you can check the reviews for the item. What this video fails to mention (I don't blame them) is that this specific keytar is actually very very picky about what midi cords it will work with. It actually won't work with half of the ones you can get on Amazon. He couldn't have possibly known that really but that's why many comments for many videos on this keytar are full of frustration. I should of come back to update my comment instead of leaving it as expression of frustration with him. Still, the jokes are certainly unwanted.
