Thank you for sharing and showing us your initial diagnosis matched the syscon reading. Scratching the board is a liitle bit risky for novices but it saves the hassle of removing the Nec Tokin. I have seen you doing it before in other videos on the fats model. I think you have problem with uart as wires too long. I keep mine short and simple with plugs.

Personally, I like the UART method to know the exact error code however the Oscilloscope method is more convenient to test the capacitors

I have a slim with a 4~5s YLOD where the syscon fails to authenticate (wrong answer length, as if the cable was disconnected). No clue why. Tried swapping rx and tx, I was able to diagnose a fat model fine with it, but no dice with this slim. It has the 65nm RSX with nec tokins, I'd very much like to confirm them or a gpu issue, but have so far been unable to

For slim models you need to select CXR to SW.

Hello. What was your measure on the ohmeter when it was a short? And what was the measure when you solve the issue? I know there's just a few ohms even when it's not shorted, so how can I know the difference? Thanks for the video.

Ps3 my master. I have a short question. Ps3 was only displaying from its normal output. But There was no image on the hdmi port. I checked the hdmi port. The legs were normal. And I changed the hdmi control chip. But now the machine does not start. The green light is on. The fan does not turn on. The green light stays on. Even though I press the button. There is no reaction in the ps3. There is 5.5 volts on the motherboard. There is no broken connection in the hdmi chip paths. I think there is no 12 volts or there is an obstacle that cuts the voltage to that 12 volt line. No. Where should I check or what should I change? Is it possible that the ps3 is not responding because of a bad hdmi chip or a bad workmanship. Does this hdmi chip cause the whole machine to turn silent?

The HDMI encoder chip is bad. It will not let the chips take temperature. Also in this case system fan starts after a long time period.
