While Unity's free running does look smoother, and a lot quicker, it doesn't look too realistic. There are so many instances where Arno jumps and lands so far away like he's flying.

+Lady Yamato Yeah I agree. Syndicate uses the same free running system, but they changed the jumping animations. They look so much more realistic and believable in Sydicate.... even though the entire free running system is pretty much impossible :)

Arno seems to have the best looking set of free running/climbing skills… I love AC. But, they should’ve had the characters moving like this since Altaïr. At least similarly. And, I know I’m not the only one that wishes more acrobatics were incorporated in the moves. &, that the hand to hand consisted of more martial arts style fighting… Wanted to play the game through to the end of the story… Based on the direction the series went with Origins & Odyssey I personally don’t see it lasting to the end of the story.

If they completely remade AC1, I would love to see this free running system implemented in place of the original, dated system. Granted you did have a lot of precise control in free running in the Ezio trilogy which I feel is lacking in the newest system. As for the story, I didn't finish Origins yet (barely completed 10 story missions) because the genre shift killed the gameplay for me. The classic AC formula died with Origins, and I cannot even bat an eye towards Odyssey. Unity would have been a masterpiece if they had ironed out all the bugs. I think the series progressed in the right direction starting with Unity, but I feel Ubisoft just gave up trying to establish AC as something unique and instead took the easy way out by turning the series into a time-dump RPG like other modern titles. I'm disappointed AC has lost its identity, so I will continue to embrace the older titles and I'm immensely looking forward to AC3 remastered :)

anant mohan lol it’s not even realistic neither. It’s shit. Unity was the last good ac game. Thing is with unity too you don’t always have to do those big unrealistic floaty jumps. It’s actually a choice to press a or x at the right time. This KZbinr just so happens to be doing it the whole gameplay. I can play unity and make it seem more realistic only doing that floaty jump rarely.

It'd be good if for the next AC or one after. They have this style parkour make it a tad bit more realistic in the jumps and mabey, tho its not really needed add a few flips. Tho that wouldn't be important i'd rather them nail the parkour to like this but slightly more realistic

Arno only has one blade. You do not get two. Arno stabbed the guy on the left with the hidden blade and grabbed the other guys neck with his free hand and choked him. Some animations look like he has two blades but alas, he has but one.

Combat in AC is easy, it's just what the enemy type is the problem. You can counter enemies, but there are some that will have a defense too.

It's super fun in my opinion. It's probably my favorite free running system in the series. You can do so much in this system compared to the other two. It takes some practice though, as it can be difficult at first.

Why would you need to see the buttons? All I'm doing is free running, and I personally feel a greater sense of immersion without the HUD. Now if this was a normal free roam, I would display the HUD, but I always turn it off in my free run videos. Enjoy the scenery more :)

Even though unity came out release date broken unity is better than syndicate because syndicate combat is so dry and boring and looks like sonic took speed and started attacking Templars. Also there's a shit tonne more to do in unity and stealth is much better in unity
