A piece of copper foil with little holes that line up with the solder blobs should allow you to fuse the foil back to where it is needed and the cap can be replaced, would the overheat problem go away if a Corsair AIO was used instead of the HSF.

I did the same thing however my ground is the only one that ripped away from the motherboard. What parts of the motherboard need cleaned to the copper..and I'm using silver conductive wire glue to do this job
@AndrewPaul5 жыл бұрын
If ground is the only one missing, scrape the conformal coat next to the missing pin then bridge the solder across. I wouldn't use the glue - it likely isn't going to be strong enough to hold the connector and you'll have issues getting that ground pin back in place as you'll need to do the above to get across the gap which is now present.

@AndrewPaul5 жыл бұрын
Hi, If the pads from the board are stuck to the connector pins then no, it'll require link wires running for those missing pins. If the board still has the pads intact (they'll be solder silver in colour as opposed to black / brown if they were missing or ripped up) then yes you'll be good to solder the pins from the connector back down and all should work fine again.

@AndrewPaul4 жыл бұрын
If you have a look at 02:45, you can see some thin light green lines coming from the left hand ends of the pads. Follow these to their next component or via along that line then run a link wire to that location. The bottom pad goes to the top side of the capacitor as seen in the image (it's a very short wire run from the leg of the connector when it's in-situ) - the second from bottom goes along that trace to a via (if memory serves me correctly). Prep the via and solder a link wire there. That should have you back up and running. Once tested and working, pot the base of the connector in with some epoxy to get some strength back into the connector to prevent it lifting again in the event you ever need to remove the power supply in future.

@johncoops68975 жыл бұрын
You need to replace the diodes and resistors that you previously removed. You already have these, so simply put them back. There is no reason to remove these parts. Next time, do not open the console and do not touch what is inside. Do not remove any components.

Hello, I have a slim ps4 that enters due to damage to the hard disk, in which a new disk is installed and the failure continues in the following way ... almost at the end of the installation it is fried, I turn it on again, it repairs the start and everything works fine for hours, on the next power left if I give video, but with white light, I turn it off, the start repairs and works fine again, I also notice that if it is working and I change HDMI device on the TV I mean I happened to see the console to watch TV, when I return to the console, stop sending video again, I never pass this type of behavior to detect if the fault is HDMI or APU. Any advice?

Follow the line coming from the end of the pad - it goes to a small ring (known as a via). scratch very lightly away at the via to remove the green coating to reveal the copper below. Mount the connector and solder the other pins, then run a link wire between the leg of the pin with the missing pad and the via you've scratched off. You'll need some decent flux to get it all on smoothly but shouldn't be too difficult if you've ever done soldering before. Good luck.
@rubenlopez71684 жыл бұрын
Andrew Paul is a link wire just and overall name for one type of wire or are there certain ones and if so which one do you recommend for this
@AndrewPaul4 жыл бұрын
The term link wire refers to the repair - it's a wire which connects (or links) two components together where the original circuit trace was damaged. Best type of wire for these repairs on PS4 is enameled wire (aka. transformer wire) - IIRC the stuff I use is 38AWG (0.1mm diameter).

@AndrewPaul4 жыл бұрын
If the pad has lifted out and is stuck to the connector then it's best to remove it and run a wire. If the pad isn't in the board any more, its connection to the circuit is broken - merely putting it back in place won't restore the connection sadly. If it's a clean break at the end of the pad and the trace is both visible and intact on the board, you might be able to use some PCB epoxy to bond the pad back in place, scrape the conformal coat from the trace leading to the pad and reconnect the two with a coating of solder - it all depends on the condition of the pad, board and ultimately how much time, effort and ££ you want to spend on getting it reinstated.

@AndrewPaul4 жыл бұрын
If it's in the same orientation as per the video thumbnail, top left pad is ground so can be easily linked to the surrounding area by scratching in a new pad next to the pin on the connector and bridging across with solder. This will also help add strength to the repaired connector when it's back in-situ. Bottom right just follow the trace back along to the via at the end and link it there via a jump wire.
