PS4 HDMI repair from Start to Finish!!

In this video I will show you how to repair your ps4 with a bad hdmi port. You will learn how to open the device and tips on how to best repair the port.
This repair needs special equipment, I would not recommend trying this yourself unless you have these tools.

A guy from our church gave my son one of these to play Minecraft on and the HDMI cable is severely sensitive If you breathe on it the screen will go off. I've inspected the pins and I've come to the conclusion that there's probably some damage on the tracers or somewhere around the HDMI port, so I'm going to order some solder equipment and try to fix it for him because he had his heart set on the damn thing working.

Good luck man. I respect the drive to make your children happy.make sure you have the same equipment this guy is using. He obviously knows his stuff. A magnifying glass on an extendable clamp or stand, or a phone with a good camera zoom positioned similarly is crucial...for me anyway. The pins in the back are extremely frustrating when you're leaning to do them....keep the temps low and the flux enough, and you can always redo them. Step away when you're frustrated and give yourself a break. Use decent solder and have a solder wick handy. They make cleaning mistakes and puddles a breeze. It's not as hard as it seems but it takes awhile to learn the in and out of the fine stuff. Be careful with the disassembly and take pictures of it as you go, ribbon wire connectors and the small signal wire under the PSU..etc. You can do it,.or perhaps you already have at this point? 🤔

Bad design- they should have made it with a detachable ribbon cable from the board to an easily replaceable HDMI socket.

But it's still got to be soldered to the board so that makes no sense.

@@HardWhereHero A ribbon cable connector, like the ribbon keyboard connector on a laptop, is indeed soldered to the board, but allows easy replacement of parts prone to failure, like keyboards and multi-pin HDMI connections.

My hdmi cable end broke off in the port. Trying to find an easy way to remove the broken piece without mangling the port? What a headache 😂

my ps4 sadly had a different interior, had to stop there and put it back together.

Thanks for the video, I was able to change the HDMI port successfully. The only problem now is that the console no longer recognizes a controller. This was not the case before. I have already tried 20 different cables and different controllers and even a new one from Amazon, nothing helps. Funnily enough, I can connect the controller via USB cable when the PS4 is in security mode. Repairing the database etc. could not solve the problem either, when I want to reinstall the firmware via USB the error message "SU-41283-8" appears. Does anyone have any idea what I can do?
