I went for the ps4 pro instead of the ps5 and heres why. 1: I didnt want to spend counless hours in a que to get the ps5 online, I wanted to play rdr2 in 4k and i figured the graphics wont be that much better on a ps5 with rdr2 or gta for that matter, I figured id sell my ps4 get a ps4 pro and put an ssd in it, then in a year or two times when they irnoed out the bugs in ps5 and the price is lowere, I will get a ps5 and sell the ps4 pro. 4k graphics is good enough for what i need, its cheaper than running a gaming pc and its not the nasty hackers that the pc versions attract.

Unfortunately, the prices of PS4 Pros didn't really go down all that much with the increased gaming demand, and low next-gen availability. I was honestly expecting Sony to keep selling them for longer than they did. Guess they needed all the chips they could get going to PS5. Thanks for the content. Looks like upgrading the pro to SSD and waiting until PS5 craziness calms down is probably the way to go.

I've owned my PS4 Pro w/1tb Samsung 860 Evo SSD for 1 yr now Big upgrade from og PS4 purchase in 2013. I wouldn't care to EVER upgrade to PS5 if they continued making games for PS4 going forward. Unfortunately this will end soon. I've played PS5 (with PS5 games)+ PS4 Pro SSD on The same 49" Sony 4ktv from the same viewing distance. The differences are very small, That's the truth. I know people who bought PS5's and we're disappointed later. People often forget gaming is just an experience and having fun. Forget the specs I still play my PS3 too. Ps 5 load times have already been confirmed by lead engineer to be vastly reduced or non-existent within an installed game (unless a developer opts to use a delay for presentation). Also the PS5 doe not target 8K 60p... the target is 4K 60p and that can still use a form of image reconstruction for games that would be too taxing to output at full native 4K with very high fidelity at higher frame rates. It has been already confirmed that the storage technology will change fundamentally the design of games for developers that choose to utilize this feature to its potential. A lot of this has been already confirmed by actual development houses working with dev kits already so no need to speculate too much.
@ShadesOfTech4 жыл бұрын
They are talking about performance in the first years but the goal is to get 4k 120 fps. Otherwise what’s the point of upgrading let’s say from PS4 pro? There are few 8k TVs out there but I really hope ps5 will support it down the line, even if with lower fps. I am really looking forward to get my hands on a ps5 and make comparison if possible with same games.
@Odank4 жыл бұрын
Shades of Tech 8K will not be a reality with any next gen game with a next gen presentation. 8K is a actually not a worthy goal as much as an increase in frame rate as there are diminishing visual returns with an increase in resolution at this point considering how much processing it will take to hit that. 60fps gaming is the next viable offering on consoles. Most people don’t care about 8k let alone 4K - most care about a stable high frame rate with smooth controls. A PS4 pro at best is outputting a upsampled 4K image (from 1600/1800p) @ 30fps using older rendering quality targets. The difference for next gen will either be a significant increase in rendering quality at the same res/fps or a slight increase in rendering with a huge increase in fps abs native 4K depending on the title. You are comparing 2015 console upgrade tech to a new custom architecture with forward looking implementation.
@Odank4 жыл бұрын
Shades of Tech 8K TV’s lower than 85” in size are irrelevant. (See fomo on tech video for clarification on this) The quality of pixels and image processing will always beat raw resolution, even in video production. Let’s get to quality 4K first before jumping the gun. There was a shootout btwn a 4K Oled and an 8K Samsung last year and it proved that 8k resolution alone is not enough for image quality. There had to be an increase in contrast, color, and high peak brightness to go along with it. Now if you have a 109” video wall, maybe you can justify outputting 8k with a closer viewing distance.
@BigBoii13693 жыл бұрын
@@Odank PS5 confirmed that it will have 8k compatibility via a frame rate. 8k will still be amazing even at 30fps and don't forget about movies either. I have an 85" TV and 4k looks really good but 8k would look even better. 1080 looks like dog crap. The best human eyes can't see more detail past 8210 resolution so I think 8k will be the final resolution frontier that matters. Anyone who makes 16k+ will just be doing so to show off tech basically.
