I swapped the HDMI cables with my set up box. This helped in kick-starting the PS4. And the HDMI from PS4 works fine with my set up box, just something to try. I know it Doesn't make sense, but this got it working.

SOLUTION: One of the problem might be that your tv does not work with 1080p resolution so you need to change the resolution in the settings of the PS4 not tv. Settings---Screen----740p. The other problem could be an energy problem so you need to change a few time the energy cord of both TV and PS4. Try also using another port of HDMI, that could work too. Good luck

i had the same problem, the screen was flickering (black screen) when ps4 was on, i could even hear the menu sound. I used my PSVita for screen share (you can use Remorte play for windows) and then i disabled HDCP in PS4 system settings and it worked. Hope it helps

Any suggestions, my ps4 only displays the screen in 480p, If I start the ps4 on 1080p or other the screen is black. The only way I could see the screen if I go into safe mode and change the displayed setting to 480p. That way it would work. Also, I see red dots on the screen flashing all over. I spent hours and hours tryna figure out what to do. Watching videos and videos. I finally found a solution that worked for me. All I did was unplug TV and pS4 from the wall. (While pS4 and TV were still on) and I plugged them back in to wall. Turned on TV and pS4 and boom. Took me to safe mode screen and loaded everything up. Restarted by itself and now I can use my PS4 again. I really thought it was over with my PS4. I messed around with HDMI and what not and nothing...but this what really worked for me. Sorry for the long ass comment lol

Good vid! So my problem is similar other than my tv does get a signal but still no image, just a black screen. Even when booting into safe mode, there is no image but there is a signal. How I know this is once the ps4 turns on, the input display on my tv disappears. As opposed to when there is no signal, my tv shows the input... until it detects a signal. If the port itself looks intact - no pins sticking up out of the middle or smashed into the back and the centre part itself isn't broken or damaged then it's likely an Encoder IC failure providing the PS4 shows a white light as normal.

Check all pins on the port and encoder for any loose / bridged pins. If all is OK, all you can do is read component values with a DMM against a known-working board and investigate any anomalies. Without schematics unfortunately that's all you can do.

I had a problem where my ps4 would turn on, go blue and then white and nothing would happen after that, just had a black screen. I tried everything, after about 2 hours of trying everything I fount out it was my HDMI CABLE that was the problem. I switched it with my Ps3 one and my ps4 worked perfectly fine. U can get a hdmi cord for free as long as u have one with your cable boxes like go to whatever company u get cable from and tell them u need a replacement hdmi cord n they will give you one or they will send someone out with one

Blinking orange is startup / shutdown from rest mode. If it's stuck you'll need to pull power and restart it. If it carries on doing it then it could be signs of a dodgy hard disk. Might be worth giving it a scan for bad sectors with HDAT2.

It'll be a fault with the HDMI video output circuit. Could be a port, Encoder chip or one of the supporting SMD components at fault.

Hy! awesome videos keep up the good work ! I have a problem that I haven't seen anywhere on forums/vids. Sometimes I get a BLOT but after shutting down the console it starts as "hasn't shut down properly" does the db check and everything is fine. However sometimes it loses its signal unrelated to usage time (sometimes 2 mins other times 3h). I found out that moving/touching the hdmi cable causes it to lose signal every time. The port looks perfect on the outside and I've tried several HDMI cables and even different power supplies. Any ideea of what could be busted ? Any answer is welcome, thank you.

Sounds like you have a couple of issues - occasional BLOD could be down to stuff like thermal paste etc. Try changing this out first, if no better I'd suggest a reball - that may cure a few bits and pieces you're suffering from. Check the port with a DMM with a lead inserted - they can break internally. See how you go from there - cheers.

Hi Andrew, I have a cuh-1215a ps4 which has no video/audio. There is no visible damage on the port. After changing the port to a new, it gives format not supported on some tv. When booted in safe mode, the screen stays black. Also, when the ps4 is booted without the hard disk, the screen remains black as well. Hope you can point me to the right direction. Thank you.

Plug them in one by one via the USB ports on the front of the PS4, wait a few seconds for the yellow charging light to appear and then press the 'PS' button on the controller. They should then reconnect fine. If that's not working then look at the rear of the controller to the right of the sticker. There's a small hole which is the reset button. Press this in with the tip of a pin or pen for a few seconds then reconnect as above. If that won't work then boot the console into safe mode by powering the ps4 down completely, then press and keep hold of the power button until you hear two beeps - release after you hear the second beep. A menu will appear asking you to connect the controller by USB. Do so - if it works in here, select the reboot option and see if you can then reconnect as above. If not, then you may have a hardware issue with the machine itself which will require attention.

I wouldn't say so - though you would have been better to have listed it as a 'HDMI fault' rather than BLOD as they tend to go for more money. State that it starts to a white light with no image hence HDMI problem. If it's not too late revise your listing.

My problem is when i boot up my ps4 it starts with blinking blue light it boots up slowly now and while its booting up the playstation logo doesnt appear on the screen anymore then blue screen pops out saying press ps button stuff you know like this comment if your problem is same here for me i think its my hdmi prob

It's likely to be a defective Encoder IC.

+ravelhom These are EMI filters - take some from a PS3 motherboard as they're plentiful and dirt cheap faulty for spares (they're exactly the same parts).

It's likely the comb is broken inside the port - they do creak a little when the ports flex. Replacement port should cure the fault.

My problem is same, the screen is going black after playing few minutes or hour, time doesnt matter and then screen backs again and I can continue playing. But I want that my console be without any problems. I wacthed a lot of videos but I didnt find the best variant. I dont want to repair it from inside because I am scary that I can make it worse and I dont want to go in safe mode. Can someone help me with my problem without broking it?

If you just need the one then eBay is probably the best bet to be fair. if you need a stock of them, try finding a direct supplier from AliExpress etc.

At vid time 5.50 you say there is still no signal and there never would be considering the hdd is not connected yes it's in the machine but it's not in far enough to make a connection

You would expect to see the 'Cannot access system storage' CE-34335-8 message displayed in that scenario. You should never see a perpetually black screen without a hard disk connected.

I need help I have a ps4 slim and my tv won’t comment when I normally turn it on but if I put it in the emergency mode it will make the no signal go away and off I look closely it starts to turn on the picture put not all the way

If the port is intact, then it's likely going to be a bad encoder.
