It's funny you mentioned that because I had also done research so that I could do it for this video. Since I couldn't find it I took matters into my own hands. I'm currently working on mine right now, and believe me when I tell you "attempt at your own risk". I wish they didn't make the controllers where you have to customize them yourself. I think I might have broke a peice, not sure yet, and you have to use some force to disconnect some wires. You're taking a huge risk with your controller trying not to cause damage. Plus the customize buttons don't even have the symbols on them. So you better never forget which buttons are □🔺️X⭕. Also the Playstation button isn't the proper logo, it's just a cutout.

Did the quick trigger mod and the paddle addition. Great product. Only advice - the red light has to be turned off for the paddles to work. It’s a setting button, not a power button 👍🏼

It can be a little confusing for a beginner but it's nothing too difficult. As long as you're paying attention and you're patient it'll work out. Luckily it gets even easier with the newer boards BDM-030 and 040. The trigger modules don't get screwed off. Which is less steps and smoother installation. The board in the video is a 010.

I did a purple/light gray controller a couple months ago but kept the white buttons as the have the symbols and the white d-pad for the arrows. I just did another variant of the purple/light gray but reversed. Purple where it’s gray and gray where it’s purple. It looks amazing

im glad its similar to the ps4 one. but if its one thing i learned its that, do not mess with the triggers and option buttons. i once messed something up with that and it never felt the same way after that. Even after putting the original ones back it never felt the same. I personally wouldnt recommend messing with that

😆 one day when you're feeling brave enough go for it! With enough heat the board should lift up easily. I recommend thin plastic tools and that aren't sharp.

Yes! Decent tools. I bought a screwdriver bit kit on Amazon and it has lasted me for I don't know how long. When it comes to working on controllers it's been great. So using the right tools is one thing to keep in mind. Start with a ps4 control if you have an extra. Have a set of plastic prying tools since it's not a good idea to use metal or you'll scratch up your stuff. Also, this one is optional, a silicon mat to work on. Some have little compartments for screws or other little items.

Hey bruh if you still haven’t fixed this, it is most likely because the touch pad isn’t connected to the circuit board with glue, you can fix this but simply gluing the touch pad to the board, or by reheating the board if there is glue on it already. Hope this helps

It's okay. You have a BDM-020 I assume. The board of that control is a BDM-010. The only thing that will be different is the touchpad. It might not be compatibile to yours depending on which kit you have.

It sounds like the triggers aren't compatible to your control. If they are then maybe you just have to open it up and see if something is stuck.

The other one I had on there had 2 plastic clear pieces (that weren't in it) that are important to the pad I guess lol. Swapped those out now everythings good. I didn't use new glue. Still works like normal. If enough heat is applied and you manage to get the touch pad board off with the glue then you could end up having most of the glue on it.

@@TheTone2244 could be like a minute? Never timed it but maybe 1-2 mins. Depends how well you're providing heat to the touchpad and how much heat. Can't be too hot either. Just apply enough throughout the whole touchpad then try to lift it. If it's not lifting apply more heat until the board starts to lift up with ease. Take the board out with the glue so keep an eye on it

You might have an 030. Which is the recent release. They're easier to work with but so far I haven't seen any replacenent triggers or bumpers that fit an 030.

Trying to do the R/L2 buttons and I dont have the screws on the front like you do at 8:44... I took the extra 2 screws out on the back and black side piece came off but i cant get the trigger out.. Any ideas? Ill prolly get it before a response lol, but thx still!

Sounds like you have a BDM-030. So far there isn't trigger or bumper replacements for 030.

Yes, you can always solder them back on if you plan on using them someday.

Hey man after doing this mod along with adding paddles my dpad is no longer working. Any idea what it could be?

Check the conductive film, which is what the dpad presses on, and Check your cables. If nothing works out disconnect your back buttons and use the stock parts to see if it works without the back buttons. If you changed your shell and buttons that doesn't need to be changed. If it works with the stock parts then you might have gotten a faulty and can ask for a replacement
