the shaft spring is upside down. the "v" shape bented final part is the one that retain the shaft down in position, not the straight one

You are correct. I just checked on spare sled I have here. Missed that, oops!.. Either way its holding the bar in place ok. I'll be sure to install correct in future.

My PS5 has the same problem as in the video. When I put the disc into the disc drive, the disc started spinning and I tried to read the disc but quickly stopped spinning, then tried spinning again and stopped, repeating this action several times until the disc not recognized notification appeared. Does anyone know what causes this?

I'm fixing one for a customer & his does nothing when attempting to insert a disc.... Any ideas where to start?

So what if after the replacement it doesn't spin up and carries on doing the same thing?

Could be a faulty laser. Scratched disk .. Or an issue with the motor controller IC. I would guess it's a laser issue.

Have another look at that retaining clip position next time you pull one apart! :)

I realised the retaining clip was the wong way wround. However it would seem to hold it perfectly fine in this instance. I do learn from my mistakes first time round.

Have you ever come across seeing an issue with ps5 where only one particular game isn’t readable ? Long story short my disc tray seems to work fine it can read my other discs with no issue , but I got a brand new copy of mlb the show and it was unreadable , 2 days of trouble shooting later , went back to the store and got a new copy of the same game and it TOO says unreadable .. I’m putting it in correctly, other discs are still working , it’s brand new and clean .. just these 2 brand different brand new copies of mlb the show 23 don’t read .. it’s strange

I have this issue. My whole collection works, except suddenly Alex Kidd DX ps5 and TMNT: Shredders revenge PS4 arent recognised. DIscs are immaculate. I pulled my ps5 apart, cleaned the laser, regreased the plastic gears and disc motor etc... Didn't solve my issue (although my disc drive is quieter now with all my other games)

Yep.. Exactly the same issue with relativly new systems.. Happened all the way from the PSX (PS1) right up to PS5. Atlease Sony are consistant! 😂

On 2023 disc are useless, better version Digital
