Swap out of a board (sub-unit) for troubleshooting is an approved method. We used to do it on Satellite and Radar gear all the time. Cuts the time in half.

My friends Xbox series X has the exact same issue. No power at all. Tried a bunch of different wires and all. Thing won’t wake up. It’s a shame it’s only 1.5 years old. Just out of warranty. 🤦‍♂️

Hdmi 2.1 are used for the new gen consoles for achieving these high resolutions and framerates. This cable is completely backwards compatible with older hdmi ports, but remember if u are using a older port other than a 2.1, u will not get the 120 fps

Nice video, is there a better way of cleaning pads rather than using wick ? That’s what normally pulls the pads, I even watched a video on KZbin and even he said wick has a habit of removing solder mask which causes failures and it can damage pads. Also I heard that Xbox X and S use Xbox one south bridge ?

wick only removes solder mask if you press it hard. just needs right technique.

​@@M.E63 should never even come close to removing solder mask by using a wick, if done properly. I'd even go so far as to say that you have to go out of your way to damage the solder mask while using a wick. You'd need a really heavy hand, max temperature solder iron, keep the iron in one spot for many multiples of seconds, and use no flux to have a chance to damage the mask.

@@Al-xj2oo I never said I’m removing solder mask but I said I watched a video of a pro who said never use a wick as it removed solder mask and has a history of causing failures, I have pulled pads but there always NC pads and I’m sure everyone’s pulled pads, I did watch a video of mgchemicals and they said you don’t need flux when using solder wick as there’s already flux in there, they said maybe if your using cheap solder wick then you might need it, or if the wick is really old which would make the flux useless

You could try swapping the bios chip to a working donor board, a bit easier then swapping the southbridge
