The build quality is no better, and reparability is going to be the same, the most repaired console I see on multiple right to repair channels is the PS5, despite 3 revisions and the Slim, they still went with the same for the Pro and it will fail, by design. If you buy one, get an extended warranty maybe buy via finance or a credit card, if you have pets or smoke or vape, it's essential, as the heatsink will clog up, and it will overheat. They even used liquid metal again, which if exposed to too much heat, fuses to the die, only way of removing it is scraping if off with a blade, scratching the die, and even then it can't really be removed. I also see the same issues with the PSU overheating and failing with that now burrowed down and being exposed to more heat than that of the Slim and the Phat.

This console isn't for people using a 32" LCD 720p TV from 2006 and are sat 8 ft away on a sofa. This is targeted at people who want the best option possible when gaming on a high end TV at an optimised viewing distance to actually see the difference when a game runs at native or near native 4k. Having the higher FPS with the high resolutions make a difference if you have the correct set up which most people do not. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy this so just stick to your regular PS5 and ignore this if you don't think the Pro is worth it.

An upgrade for enthusiasts. Nothing wrong with that and it's not so different from other product lines. There's always an upper echelon of televisions, headphones, mobiles etc. costing comparatively a lot of money. However you get the best of what's available right now. The law of diminishing returns kicks in (1,5x higher cost doesn't mean 1,5x more speed for example), but when you're an enthusiast you don't care. Again: you want the best of the best hardware wise. So my applause is to those people going for it. Enjoy your buy!

After 10 years with my OG PS4 I’m finally upgrading to the PS5 pro. £700 might seem a lot of money, however I consider it future proofing. Like 4-5, by the time PS6 comes out it will be many years later it breaks away from the PS5 consumer base. I can count on one hand the games I’ve missed out on to date. Perhaps not right now but, PSSR will no doubt have massive benefits going forward on future releases. I can happily see the Pro model lasting me another 10 years like my OG PS4.

I’ve spent this entire generation being frustrated that I have to slash the looks of a game to get smooth gameplay. If PS5 Pro, in most cases, gives the equivalent of base PS5 fidelity mode at 60fps, that’s all I could ask for. It will be rare for me to choose fidelity modes, but if a slower game like Alan Wake 2 really cranks up the ray tracing and ambiance, I might give it a shot.

can build a Ryzen 3600 + 6800 build (equivalent to the Pro) for the exact same cost, unless you add in the disk drive and stand. If consoles follow this pricing trend then the writing is on the wall. At this point if you purchase this over building a PC then I don't know what to tell you. Upgradability, cheaper games, no paid online multiplayer, the most games of any platforms including Xbox and Playstation "Exclusives". The thing is that console is irrelevant if you don't own a TV that costs 1000-1500$ with the features required for this console. If you have a TV that can't handle all the console features, don't get the console.

Its going to be a 10/10 for me, and i cant wait to recieve mine tomorow! I have been waiting to play games in 4k at 60fps on a 132" projector screen, the base ps5 just didnt cut it for me and i was always undecided on playing either performance mode which looked blurry and muddy or graphics mode which looked lovely but was too annoying playing at 30fps. Now finally i can play graphics mode in games at 60 fps, the console is a dream for me but i can understand that it wont be for everyone especially for people with small screens who wont be able to see any difference.

It depends. I have a small screen - a 27” 1440p monitor. But 1080p looks terrible on it. Very very bad. There’s not a ton of games that run at 1080p on PS5, but a lot of them do on performance mode. So I still got a PS5 Pro. I will probably upgrade my monitor by the time the PS6 releases.

@@Killer_Nads Same. I have eyes for graphical differences. Given the display I have (its premium stuff) I want to treat myself to the best experience available. Given its an investment for next 3 - 4 years its worth it for me. The value of better entertainment now is > than a a hypothetical ps6, whatever that would be years down the line. I also got great sale value for my ps5. So the pro cost me an additional half of its price.

@@naivedhyakhatri5142 Yes exactly, i already got my moneys worth from base ps5 and will give that to my kids to play on in living room. £700 does seem steep for the Pro but im 100% sure i will get full use out of it, and theres so many games i held off playing as i couldnt bare playing in performance mode (blurry + 1080p) or graphics mode (30 fps) such as FF7 remake part 2, Dragons Dogma 2, Alan wake 2 + DLC's, Horizon 2 plus many others!! So glad i held off playing these games now so that i could enjoy them much better with the Pro. Honestly, i can not wait for my Pro to arrive tomorow :D - oh and another game i held off purchasing was Silent Hill 2, really hope thats getting a Pro mode aswell!

All expensive pc's and laptops don't include a disc drive so what's the problem? If you want to play physical games just buy the separate disc drive or the older ps5. 699 for the performance it have is a great choice. Play on the cough on a big oled screen. Without tweaking all the games with stutter problems on pc. People complaining about the price, but play there 2000 dollar pc without a disc drive. And the ps5 pro is much easier to play. Just turn on and enjoy your game on a big screen 🙏🏻🔥🔥

If for someone the entertainment is "find the difference", then go for it. I think XSX will go head to head with PS5 Pro. I stick with my Xbox Series X. Better processor, slightly less powerful GPU (12Tflops and 52 compute units), machine learning, FSR 3.1, hardware accelerated Ray Tracing + DirectX 12 Ultimate. Xbox Series X is just waiting to spread wings in a final moment. By the way. I own 27 inches monitor 144Hz and I am going to play "F1 24" on my Xbox One X with 120Hz mode enabled. Yes! Xbox One X. The game looks identical to me. It is the same game. It is going to cost me less in electricity bills.

I honestly don't care anymore. Talk about diminishing returns....im perfectly happy with my normal PS5. I'd rather play the game rather than pressing my face to the screen to see if a distant skyscraper in Spiderman looks slightly sharper.
