Here's what most of these reviews are not telling you. If you upgrade from PS5 to PS5 Pro, you won't really notice a big difference in graphics or performance unless you have a TV/monitor that takes advantage of the features PS5 Pro offers. You need a 4K with HDR , variable refresh rate and at least 120hz. OLED is really the way to go. I upgraded from PS5 to PS5 Pro, but I also upgrade my TV from a 4K UHD to a 4K OLED with all the above mentioned features. The difference is jaw dropping. I have absolutely no buyers remorse whatsoever. It really comes down to 2 basic questions. 1) Do you enjoy gorgeous graphical fidelity and performance.? And 2) Do you have an extra $800 lying around that you don't mind parting with?

@@MAIKUS07 that's a very good point. I'm not sure how much is attributed to the TV and how much to the PS5 Pro. However, I do know that that on my base PS5 with my older TV, there were 3 settings in the display tab that I could not access. These were HDR , VRR and ALLM. These 3 were always blacked out and said "Your TV does not support this feature." But now that I have the OLED, all features in display tab are accessible and adjustable. Also, you don't have to buy the disc drive from scalpers. You can find them periodically on Playstation Direct or Gamestop has some promotional thing going on where if you become a "Gamestop loyalty rewards member, you can buy the disc drive from them. Just sign up, buy the disc drive and then cancel your membership.

Here in Brazil, it's still not worth it if you already have a standard PS5 or if you're still going to buy a standard PS5. Around there, it is probably not worth it either, the gain is minimal in relation to what was expected. Maybe, well, maybe at the end of the generation this PS5 Pro will be interesting. You who have the standard console, stop watching these graphic comparison videos. You won't be playing with a 45x ZOOM to see some "detail flaw". Will be investing in a Pro to future proof for titles releasing in 2025 and beyond that will be looking to take full advantage of its hardware. idk why no one is saying this but the pro is perfect for anyone who is still using a base ps4. it was such a huge upgrade that the 700 was worth it for me. it's basically a gaming PC for your big screen TV. there's tons of value to be had. using an external SSD i have about 5TB of storage with it so it is easy to get a huge library. i'm up to 100 games since i opened it up a week ago. the PS4 backwards compatibility is an amazing feature.

it's the highest spec console on the market in 2024. nobody can deny this. it has QoL features that the base PS5 doesn't have. plus they fixed the liquid metal flaw in the original models so that is worth it to some people right there. people are just haters and want 4090 graphics for $400 and it will never happen. if it's not worth it to you, then it's clearly not for you. for people who are still running a base ps4 it is a very desirable choice

The way the ps5 pro works is lower resolution and upscaled to 4k. The internal res is actually lower in most titles on the pro vs. a base ps5. This is what I understood from DF. Could be wrong tho

The differences aren't huge now and the price point isn't justified but with more demanding titles releasing in the future I feel the Pro will shine and it will become almost the standard before Sony's next console, if the Pro goes on sale anytime soon I would do my best to get my hands on one IF and a big IF you care about tech and the performance of things.

As I noticed you talked about your controller having a short battery life. That you use cables and thought that type c is replaced with usb on the ps5 pro version. I would suggest buying a charging station where the controller can be put on it also you just need 1 more controller so you have 2 so you can change them along the way when one is used in the battery then you just change the other one sitting on the charging station then. So I've never had to sit with a cable on the controller while playing because it feels really stupid to sit with the one that has cables on it.

For what I've been testing on few games the difference not only comes for a crisper image but far more smoother motion. It's much clearer than any of these youtube videos. However, if you don't own good 4k tv and have that extra money to spend then this is not worth the upgrade. But please don't go and spend that money to pc and expect that to bring same or better results =D It wont.

If we want to use the whole TFLOP perspective... PS4 = 1.8 TFLOP PS4 Pro = 4.2 TFLOP Thats about 250% more compute performance...and why a lot of people can see the difference in actual game play. PS5 = 10.28 TFLOP PS5 Pro = 16.7 TFLOP XBOX Series X = 12.15 TFLOP (just for perspective) Thats just 60% more compute performance...and why a lot of people can barely see the difference in actual game play and most cases you actually have to stop playing and actually pixel peep and look for the difference 😅. I know TFLOPS its not a proper comparison....just trying to do a numbers to numbers idea here. I think the PS5 Pro should at least be hitting 20 TFLOPS to be an actual "Pro" console 🤔 I mean really, I dont remember Sony making a video explaining that its going to take time to take advantage of the PS4 Pro after it launched 😏.

Pro in standard mode is 16.7 TFlops but Cerny confirmed GPU clocks can go higher to a max 2.35ghz which is 18 TFlops

TLOU shows perfectly advantages of pssr. Even though it's same internal resolution on both machines perceived detail is significantly higher on pro. It looks very close native 4k. I also noticed in Path of Exile 2 while using pssr and changing internal resolution weirdly hardly makes a difference. I still wouldn't necessarily recommend most people upgrade if they already have base ps5. Only people who really appreciate finer details it's worth it.

The pros don’t outweigh the price. Crimson desert might do it for me or a PlayStation exclusive that’s NEW and pro Pro. Other than that Sony won’t get that money off me yet… thank you.

So basically my PS5 with games set on Fidelity mode but with VRR activate, makes the PS5 Pro completely useless =))) I play all games at 4K Resolution but even through it says that FPS are locked at 30, with Unlocked Framerate and a Samsung TV with Game Mode with VRR on, I play Fidelity Mode games with 4K Res at constant 60 FPS :))))

When I heard ps6 coming, it was not very far away, buying ps5 pro @ 700$ I don't think it worth that. If you can see the pattern both ps5 and pro can't run game at 4k natively. I think that's going to be Ps6's marketing point. I'm gonna buy ps5 slim for now.

Short answer, 1 month later it's still not worth it if you already have a ps5. You don't have slightly blurry backgrounds when you compare them side by side - who gives af You get slightly better frames when you compare them side by side - who gives af It's lighter... You're not holding the console so who gives a af. It looks better...? Personal preference so who gives a af. If you don't have a PS and can comfortably afford it then get it. If you have a PS5 already you aren't missing much.

i have been using Pro ever since the launch day....i am not so concern about the visual but i am hoping for a better framerate and overall it has....better the base PS5 and Xbox.............20% to 30% better...in average...and overall i am happy...and i have no complains........just a happy gamer...i do play games in PC for xbox games and Nintendo Switch as well..........just a happy gamer without the hate of any console in the market ...

Man, for some of these side by side comparisons I’m having to pause my video and really squint at the screen to see the differences you’re describing, and if you didn’t label the boxes I wouldn’t be able to tell which one is supposed to be the ‘Pro’. I think I’ll be skipping this one
