PS5 PRO - Where The Hell Is It?

We’re into the latter half of 2024 and rumours behind one of the gaming industry’s worst kept secrets is gathering momentum once again. A November 2024 release window sits atop of numerous PlayStation 5 Pro rumours, but despite November being merely 4 months away Sony are still yet to conclusively confirm or deny the existence of PS5 Pro.
Instead, we’re reduced to pouring over the opinions of industry observers, journalists, and anonymous sources. To be clear, there is nothing concrete confirming or denying PS5 Pro’s November release window, but as this feature describes there are a handful of concerns that November might come too soon for this expected powerhouse of a mid-generation refresh.
We’ll just have to wait and see - the PS4 Pro was announced in the September prior to its November 2016 release after all.

Sony got side tracked down the GAAS rabbit hole that gamers do not want and AAA masterpieces take time to produce. When the PS5 Pro launches, everyone will be hyped to buy games again.

Why do some people automatically think the PS5 Pro needs a killer app day one or it will be delayed. The console is not a new gen with zero software. The PS4 Pro did not release with any launch titles apart from Knack. Astrobot will be the PS5 Pro equivalent. The purpose of the mid gen upgrade is to play existing and future games better. That's it, plain and simple. The only reason Sony will delay is if they have not manufactured enough consoles for the predicted demand in the Chinese warehouse where they are produced. Sony cannot afford to repeat the failed PS5 launch when Covid throttled availability leading to apathy, resulting in half of PlayStation gamers still on PS4. The PS5 Pro needs to bring them all across so they start buying games again. Sony are clearly in full production in China, because you can't just produce 10 million consoles 2 months after announcing it. It takes over 6 months, even with Foxconn producing one console every second.

PS4 Pro (Forced Super Sampling). PS5 (Only supersamples certain PS4 games that have it "built in the options menu", like God of War and The Last Of Us remastered.) PS4 versions of Games like FF7 Remake, Kakarot and a bunch of others lack this option when playing the PS4 version on the PS5. PS5 Pro (Forced supersampling again?) If so, then it'll play PS4 Pro Enhanced games better than ever!! This will be a great reason for PS4 Pro users to upgrade if true.

I don't think that there will be PS6 Pro. Microsoft is done with mid-gen upgrade, and they will release new generation first(2026). PS6 will most likely come in 2027. By that time PS6 will have superior hardware and no need for PS6 Pro.

I do need a PS5 Pro. I still have a Base PS4 and many PS4 games that I haven't played yet. Why ? Because the Base PS4 isn't powerful enough to play them at 60 fps. Granted, the Base PS5 could played those PS4 games almost perfectly at 60 fps. But I did not buy a Base PS5. Why ? Because I have a powerful PC. Why wait or the need for the PS5 Pro if you have powerful PC ? Because I'm a Sony fanboy and I need my (more) trophies. And I have a 4K TV (Bravia) on the way.

When the ps4 pro came out they didn't really hype it up alot. They will probably have one conference then drop it. It makes sense to wait until devs can actually have games optimized for it. Edit: I actually think it will sell out and be scalped because of gta 6. It should most likely run the best version of gta 6. So streamers and gaming content creators will buy ps5 pros.
