My GF3 and my experience with PSA has been pretty flawless. I recently tried Pioneer's trainer, and experienced a collapsed recoil assembly, light primer strikes on every mag, and stuck casings, and four attempts to resolve it. They relented in trading the trainer for a 5.56, but sent it to the wrong FFL. I really want these companies to succeed. I want more people joining the hobby from every budget. The more shooters, the more 2A support, the greater the brotherhood of the Kalashnikov. Great video, brother!

gunsmith opinion, the reason why there's failures with steel case is because the thermal expansion vs unlocking time is cutting it close, meaning the steel case hasn't fully retraced from the heat cycle of you know, going bang, so when the bolt carrier to begins the unlocking procedure, it rips the rim off because the casing still is "expanded". Brass is more malleable, and has a shorter heat cycle or whatever. A way to fix this is either polishing the chamber, or you know, not having such a short gas system to begin with.
@KCWeapon6 ай бұрын
Polishing the chamber was my first thought as well. I would be curious to see what it looks like right out of the box.

@EverydayAmerican6 ай бұрын
I've heard this line of thinking quite a bit but, I think case design plays a bigger role. Rounds with a tapered case, like both x39 rounds, will always outperform a straight cased round, like the 5.56, when talking about extracting and exiting the breach. It's the reason steel cased 5.56 doesn't play well in both ARs and AKs when the two have completely different cycle times.
@KCWeapon6 ай бұрын
@@EverydayAmerican I have has similar stuck steel cased 556 in an AR15 in the past but I for sure see what you mean and it makes perfect sense.
@slappp61636 ай бұрын
@@EverydayAmerican Now normally you would be entirely correct, but the taper of the casing doesn't really matter all too much. The tapered casing helps with feeding and seating inside the chamber, not so much on extraction. Gun physics is weird, but, as a whole, steel case has more friction on the system over brass. That's why you see steel case with the slick green lacquer coating on the rounds themselves, it's not a cosmetic choice!

PSA has definitely stepped up their game. They are the most innovative firearms company in the country at this time.
@armorers_wrench7 ай бұрын
Are you out of your mind!? In what way has PSA ever innovated on anything? The fact of the matter is that PSA is a company that has fooled the entire community with their marketing claiming they are trying to arm as many people as possible. Well, what are they arming people with? Garbage that doesn't work right? Look at all the youtubers who were sent guns BY PSA for the sole purpose of reviewing the gun and yet the gun still doesn't work! That's important--cherry picked guns by the company sent to influencers don't even work. So, how do you think the gun sent to Billy Bob in Kentucky works? It doesn't. He'll end up sending it back at least once, probably twice. Even the "sabre" line of guns has been plagued with issues despite it being their "duty grade" line. You won't get issues like that with a BCM or a SOLGW Simple Jack. PSA is just a group of guys trying to get rich by cutting every corner possible. People let all their mistakes slide because they have some edgy political goal but the fact of the matter is every gun company other than HK is trying to arm as many people as possible---that's what their business is. Save your money for a gun that works.

I’m at about 600 rounds through it so far & everything looks good; parts are wearing in normally. As far as steel case goes: I don’t buy steel 5.56, only x39. In my experience most of it is trash, especially now. So even if it were available all my 5.56 guns would get brass anyway. I’ve had perfectly gassed, soft shooting AR’s rip the rims off steel case. Not to mention if you shoot suppressed how much dirtier it is. I say leave the steel case to the x39 & 5.45 guns, feed the 5.56 guns ammo made of the material it was intended to be made from.

Hit that chamber with an ultra high grit silicone polishing bit. Not to the point of putting a match finish in the chamber (that would decrease lubricity): just enough to flatten high spots and make those fresh flats extremely slick (which will increase lubricity). That should _relieve_ surface tension enough to allow it to run steel without being wet. Note I said silicone - specifically soft silicone, you just want to gently buff the surface of the metal - not change the chamber geometry.

So if you watch Admin's video, at 20:52 you can see the bolt bounce, and the hammer then release by the trigger pushing the bolt back into battery and firing. I wonder if this is contributing to the failure to run steel case. I'd recommend running the video at 1/4 speed, it makes it easier to see.

Klay knows and handles an AK like Mikhail Kalashnikov’s grandson. My overarching takeaway is: It’s a great pistol/SBR with brass cased ammo - to include, the suppressor Klayco was using. "Putnik"? 7.62x39 is tapered. Much easier to extract steel cased. 5.56 NATO is not tapered. No help on extraction. It’s quite academic actually. So, don’t purchase steel cased 5.56/.223 - it’s a scam.

Out of an ar sure. Out of an Ak it should be able to chew through cheap steel case. Kinda the whole Ak appeal anyways

Do not see the point of steel case 556 as I can find brass cheaper

I've shot tons of steel case though both my 556 Saiga and my ARs. I absolutely love Tula 75gr. I've never had any issues with any of it in any of my guns.

If it doesn't shoot steel case ammo, I don't need it. That goes for AR or AK

I would try spinning a cotton mop with some jewelers polish on it in the chamber, see if that helps. This worked for a Ruger 556 that had this problem.

Definitely curious about the krinks and look forward to seeing more. That being said the Putnik is really catching my eye. Wonder how it's comparing to say the Wolverine.

They were prototyping a krink that takes ar mags and even has bolt hold open, like their full size 5.56 AK that takes ar mags. The only thing confirming it's existence is a single video from well over a year ago. Its very frustrating.

Great content as always!! Question though what over the shoulder cam are you using and is it built into the ear pro? Would love something like this for my Kalash Bash run haha

I so wish i had bought a 104ur when i had the chance. It was always, ah ill get one later. Doh. I like the psa krink. We shall see how it holds up

That’s the thing about PSA is they pump out such a huge volume of firearms that the QC has zero chance of being up to par with other manufacturers who don’t produce that amount of volume. Still sad to see cause I love PSA as a company. Probably the most based American manufacturer but they gotta do something with the QC cause it’s great to want to arm as many Americans as possible but the things have to work.

PSA is not interested in making guns work. They are a profit maximizing company with manufacturing products to the "Bare Good Enough" standards.

Try hitting a target or see if you can get some good groups. It doesn't like steel ammo, that's ok. It looks VERY GOOD , 556 needs length for the velocity, 300 black out would be perfect for that short barrel.

For as much as mic muffling might not have been intended, it created a pretty cool effect.

Well..glad I didn't hit the buy now on PSA'S website. Ak's are made for STEEL CASED AMMO..if it can't run STEEL it's a no for me! My zpap92 has had 0 issues with steel and my PSA 104K 12.5" pistol SBR runs steel cased ammo fine! Plus 5.56 out of an 8.3" barrel = crappy ballistics..7.62x39 does better!!
