The pivot screw is the obvious counterfit. The real one is slightly dome and the scale screw is also slightly dome and finally the wave is slightly too sharp compared to the real one, other than that, it looks really freaking good.

Why would you do that? Also I don't know is the original HW would fit.

How do the ceramic bearings feel as opposed to bronze washers? Is the detent really weak?

Compared with the original the detent is weaker than on the original. The action is very smooth on the Fake. That is due to the ball-bearing washers.

The detent is weak but it can be made tighter by disassembling and increasing lockbar strength. Doing so does not impede the action due to the use of bearings instead of nylatron like in the original.

I own this exact clone. It's a decent knife but the detent is weak. Blade grinds are spot on and the overall build quality is there. Compared to my 7a imho it is built a bit better, just sayin

Thanks man and Happy New Year. I've got to mess around with the detent cause its' pretty weak but truthfully other than that its' a very well made folder for not a lot of dough. Also they are now using 154cm steel in the blade. The other thing is that it is razor sharp out of the box where as my 7a was not, and that was bought right off the EKI website. just sayin

I love high-end fakes, when the price is a mere fraction of the criminally overpriced version. So many branded knives are ridiculously overpriced these days. It is beyond belief. And many of the fakes are really good quality too, and will last you a lifetime. I have been using a fake Emerson and a Spyderco for a decade now. The one you are showing is on its way to me right now. It is a beauty.

The previous Emerson fakes were low quality exactly what you would expect for 15$ this one is lightyears apart from those fakes. It shows how the Chinese OEM progressed in the last 10 years.

@@nerv5th Yes, I have the black G10 CQC-7BW serrated Tanto version. It still holds up very well. Even if it is considered low quality, it feels very solid, and well made. I looked it up. Turns out I actually bought mine 7 year ago, for the staggering price of €14.49. I also have the Horseman version. I would not mind a Horseman custom in the same style, titanium/micarta/Böhler.

@@andreasplosky8516 I bought my first Emerson 10 years ago it was a moded cqc7 no wave version so I got the same year the satin clone/fake the price for what they sold back then it was an ok knife but the quality and feeling were nowhere near the original.

So in summary, if the action is smoother and have better finish its a fake 😅 Too bad its not made by green thorn or vespa. MG have soft ht according to chinese reviewers..

No it is fake or counterfeit because they used original logos and made almost 1:1 copy. Vespa and MG make clones they copy the design and make some adjustments but don't copy the original logos so the customer knows it is a clone and the risk you get scammed is almost zero.
