The warning message is very specific. It is about modified clients and unauthorised use of the PokemonGo API. They are shutting the door to bots, IV checkers, hacked versions of their apk etc. Spoofing on the other side cannot always be detected. If you are outright using a modified version of the app to spoof, you will be detected. If you have a zillion km's walked, or you walk 24/7 you might be detected. But if you are occasionally and carefully spoofing (meaning don't go to Paris now and New York in 3 hours), move around your actual location, do a couple of km's per "spoofing session" and generally "behave" - like, don't take town gyms in a row like a maniac - it will be very hard to tell that you are spoofing your location. Besides botting and all other malevolent things, there have been some legitimate cases for (unauthorised) use of their API: IV checkers. Seriously, going through each and every pokemon to see if it's worth keeping is kinda retarded. I go out in my day and a lot of times I come back home by the evening with 50 new pokemon. Am I supposed to do this check-and-transfer 50 times? I guess other people catch even more. This is insane. Pokemon Go is all about the meta game. Catching them all and keeping and evolving the best of the best. Without a decent alternative way to quickly and thoroughly check IV's in game, it is gonna get boring soon.

Bryan Bendickson It actually wasn't supposed to be a "real Pokémon game", so to speak. It was meant to be leanimg towards getting people to explore the world and not focusing on the catching. So it kind of makes sense why the tracker is the way it is right now. Also, in the real pokémon games (or the ones I have played at least) you couldn't really track down a pokemon. You would have a genersl area where certain species are likely to spawn, but you wouldn't get directed to any one pokemon.

Placid Manyele There's a problem with that, thing's aren't spawned in all the time. So if you go down a footpath to explore somewhere you may find nothing, someone else going 20 minutes later may get a bunch of spawns. Go there again and maybe get the likes of a pidgey, go for a third time and again see nothing. This will make you not want to go to that location, you have no reward for your time and simply visiting somewhere loses its enjoyment when what you really want is to catch Pokemon. The sightings list is all well and good until you're in an area lacking stops. When you explore away from these places you are left blind, locally for me the only stops are in the center of town where all the pubs, churches and a couple of random arty things lay. That's not new and exciting, that's not pulling us to explore new places. As well as not giving your the incentive to explore, people standing just away from stops get punished because there is no nearby and only sightings. In rural areas the spawns are a lot lower due to many places lacking information in Ninantics server. In my town there are 8 parks, none of which spawn anything never mind nests. Why? because the information was never put into googles or openstreetmaps database. Many paths are left unmarked causing you to when actually exploring just walk aimlessly in open field areas on screen. I have taken the time to update the information and contact Niantic about this to no fix. Any residential areas around the town center which are more enjoyable and safer (not getting run over) to walk will tell you about Pokemon on pokestops in the town center, dispite 10 foot away next to a random off shoot of houses there's a very rare. You would never think to go to this location because as said at the start, you've been there multiple times in the past and got nothing what so ever. Theres also the problem with spawns just slightly away from pokestops, they don't show up. Only the spawns under the stops give you a mention on the sightings. The reason why Pokemon games never gave you a way to actually track down the pokemon was because in the pokedex it would give you route locations of their spawns, all you needed to do was run around in the grass in that location to find it. Niantic don't give you pokemons spawn locations by clicking them on the pokedex. The only way to get the information about pokemon species spawns is to use maps and silphroad to find nests that are already known to the public. However, they are third party information sites/apps... So it's against the rules... You're trying to be polite to a system that is clearly broken, if people don't express how they feel and how it could work better they aren't going to change it, they are lazy as it is and people are giving them more of a reason to be so.

hey nick or anybody, there is a valor player and he has a group of people he plays with. he is in 50+ gyms and most if not all are level 10 with high cp pokemon. he just called out 2 valor players who shaved one of his gyms but i find that ridiculous. not only is he and his group stopping mystic and instinct players from having fun but also valor players. you cannot collect more than 10 coins everyday so what is the point of having more than 10 gyms and maybe a couple more for insurance. they go to other places and ruin competition for all teams. do you think there should be a cap of like 15 gyms you can be in?

I would also like to change team, to be with the group of friends I made whilst playing... Which is what Niantic wanted... People to explore and meet people... But I'm not allowed to change... And exploring together means I get left out of doing Gyms because why attempt to take a gym in a group of people 1v5... And if I do then people would get annoyed because they want to get a bonus, then losing friends because they wouldn't want to invite me to explore... Or you know, I could have made a new account at level 26, about 2 months or so into the game, after working day and night catching under shit server conditions. But now level 34 completed Gen 1, 211 Pokedex... Doesn't really seem like a good idea... Oh and the fact you get phone banned for having two accounts so that's out of the question... This up and coming gym update is going to be so fun!!! (Sarcasm, for those who find it hard to read)

We have the same misfortune with the latest migration in Downtown Charleston, SC. The lower portion of the peninsula constantly spawns Voltorb and Magnemite like your area. A nearby park over the Ravenel Bridge became a Voltorb nest... And we got shafted with a Weedle nest at another popular park. At least one of the areas is a Houndour and another is Shuckle.

First of all, sorry for my eng. Second, i use spoofing program. Why? Because: 1.- I dont have a freaking car, i just earn enough money to survive and a decent cellphone to play this game because im fucking POOR. 2.- Weather in my place is like cold and rain most of the year (this summer we just got like 30 days of sun ... and rain), getting real tired of this city but i cant leave (-45.411958, -72.700597 the end of the world) 3.- Delinquency. For example, 3 weeks ago 2 guys followed me (one of them with a knife) while i was taking the second and last gym here and almost stole my cellphone. Im tall and i learned martial arts, so i got two options: get away from them or fight them. I could fight but i just choose to run. Even this is a very small town, i cant even imagine the true danger in the big cities. And also, i have to play alone, because the only instinct players here is me and some other spoofers. 4.- I have 2 gyms in my city. They are 1 mile away from each other. How can i do against spoofers if they take the 1st gym i got before i take the second one?. What alternative do we have, the very very rural players?

well.. not really.. not everybody is lucky enough to live in areas where there are a lot of pokemon or where there is a large diversity of pokemon. The nearest pokestop to my house is a 10 min bike ride.. the nearest gym 15 minutes.. the nearest "big" city a 30 min car ride.. While others are lucky enough to live on top of 1 or 2 pokestops.. or gyms.. or next to a nest area.. not all locations/situations are the same across the globe, giving some people (in a city for example) quite the advantage (hence.. "unfair") which has nothing to do with someone being lazy or not.

Funny how biomes are. I also got Voltorb for my migration, but I'm delighted. Voltorb and Magnemite are non-existent in my grass/water biome where I live, except at one hotspot in the next town over.

I got this message, but I don’t use any third party software. There are also no unwanted apps with access to my Google account. Now that I got this message I haven’t been able to see rare or evolved pokemon in the wild, which is really not nice, since I planned to play a lot the coming weeks. I sent a mail to Niantic and placed a comment on their support site, but nothing happened yet. This message has cost me 3 incense, a lure, 4 shiny Roselia, and some other really strong and rare Pokémon. I hope they are going to do something about it. EDIT: typo

I recently reported an Instinct player in my town. My friend and I were going around and taking gyms from him, and he started taking them down rapidly even tho he's only lvl 25 with weak pokemon and he was taking gyms in a 1-2 minute period from each other, and it's physically impossible even to run from one to another that quick. Finally, he took a gym we were next to, but there was no one there but us.
