@@emilyheilman9575 You're no such thing! I understand how it feels when you don't feel like you fit in completely, to be truthful I feel that way most of the time but am working through it. So, He has put you there for a reason and I believe that He's just getting your feet wet. We don't always go in at first with our waders off and you're not always going to jump in feet first into the fire. The Lord knows your sensitivities and fears, he knows whats in your heart and how deeply you feel about this project, so maybe it's not the right time for you to go full swing yet. I know that I would rather get it over most of the time but when He says its not your time and not in this season then what he's asking you to is to Be Still and Wait. You reminded me of my favorite Psalm 27 and to me its my life story and NLT has said it so well for me but verses 13 & 14 is how I see you. Psalm 27:13-14 NLT (13) Yet I am confident I will see the LORS'S goodness while I am here in the land of the linving. (14) Wait patiently for the LORD. Be Brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD. TPT is even more heartfelt (13) Yet I believe with all my heart that I will see again your goodness, Yahweh, in the land of life eternal! (14) Here's what I've learned through it all: Don't give up; don't be impatient; be entwined as one with the LORD. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting-- for he will never disappoint you! God Bless You and always keep your eyes on the Light that shines from within!

Interesting twist on this psalm. It’s actually a prophecy about Jesus, not us (Hebrews 2:9).

Hey Randy, from the study I've done, I believe it's both. Many commentaries and scholars speak of "double fulfillment" in prophetic passages, where they have an immediate application and meaning for the immediate context, but also a prophetic meaning as well. Isaiah 9:6-7 is a good example of this. I recorded this Psalm 13 years ago... were I to do it again, I would have kept the language more literal and open to interpretation. Thanks for listening!

Why leave out/change vs 4? What is man that you are mindful of him. And the son of man that you care for him. The new testament itself sheds light on this psalm as being about Christ. So why alter it?

It's a decision I made when we recorded this song 13 years ago that I regret. While I do believe that phrase is referring to mankind as well as Christ, it would have been better to leave it literally rendered to allow for the double meaning.
