It's interesting to hear PSB tracks with 'sung' vocals on them, it really works. Some classic PSB guitar riffs and drums, reminiscent of Everest and Night Mail. Great stuff.

PSB have a great knack of doing something, for each lap, that’s simultaneously very different to what they did before, while still being distinctively PSB. Love this. Great vocals from Andreya too.

No idea who this artist is.....just stumbled across this. But I love it! I'm 38....and it annoys the shit out of me when people my age and older whine about how there's no good music anymore. BS. In fact, I dare say we're living through an era of TOO MUCH great music. It's damn near everywhere. But...it's not as centralized; you gotta seek it out. Unfortunately that does mean a lot of cool stuff just gets lost in the shuffle. But it also means you can randomly click some video on KZbin, go in completely blind, and there's a very good chance of being pleasantly surprised. This song is a great example....but there's thousands more examples. Older people who say there's no good music anymore are either lazy....or, more likely, the problem is them, in that they've literally lost the psychological connection to music. It doesn't move them anymore. They're kinda sorta dead inside. And that honestly is sad. It's easy to slip into that sort of malaise as you get older. But that aint ever happening to me. The feeling of discovering some amazing new song that sends shivers up your spine is why I live.....

@@avedic Ha :) I'm just shy of 60, I don't think it really matters. We all like what we like.
@dziobusz3 жыл бұрын
@@avedic I’m over 50 and I can’t agree at all with the dead inside bit. I love music and I’m probably more open than ever. I’m not for example trying to define myself through music which I think a lot of younger people do. I just listen to what is good. That goes from all the great old stuff, right up to what my kids are into, as well as world music and classic. For me it doesn’t matter what the style is as long as it resonates with me. One recent discovery - thanks to BBC Radio 6 music - is PSB. I know you were trying to generalize but that doesn’t fit me :)
@rogerbennett96413 жыл бұрын
@@dziobusz I'm well over 60 and have discovered a lot of great new music thanks to 6 and specifically Shaun Keavnys show I also still like anything I like whatever decade from some Soft Machine & Mahavishnu Orchestra through to Venus by Shocking Blue and Captain Beefheart , I agree young people try to define themselves through music I certainly did when I was young. I don't think that should be a problem providing kids are taught the difference between indoctrination and education and the more parents can teach kids to think the better for them.

"Don't give the goods away too soon" is what she might have told me. Although, according to a book about her by the daughter she left behind, that is not what she would have said... Being only familiar with the icon of later years, it wasn't until I saw The Blue Angel that I began to understand not only her charisma, but the significance of her reinvention. Unlike Jannings or von Harbou, she was right to leave the UFA and Germany behind when she did, like Lang, von Stroheim, Veidt, Preminger, etc. and make herself into a different star that shone many orders of magnitude more brilliantly. It's a long way from Ich bin die fesche Lola to Sag mir wo die Blumen sind.

THANK YOU. I'm so glad someone actually said this! I'm so fed up of folks my age and younger (I'm 29, for context) being like 'I WAS BORN IN THE WRONG ERA THIS IS REAL MUSIC EVERYTHING'S CRAP THESE DAYS' under every Led Zeppelin video on KZbin. Like, my dude...these genres never went away. Punk or whatever never died. It's still out there. Great music is out there, you've just gotta find it in different places to before. It won't be served up on a plate anymore, and arguably it never was to begin with. Good on you for keeping the fire, and still having that joy and love of finding new music. I hope the fire never goes out for you.

As i inch to my middle 50's and long time music fan I find the issue is finding the good stuff. I used to look at the lower end of the charts (20-60) and listen to certain presenters to find it, now it is tricky. Its out there, I'm finding stuff (though often I find a new band/artist and discover that they have been active for a decade or more, which means on one hand, great, a back catalogue to dive into, but also, a harrumph as I can't watch them develop, which was fun in itself).
