This play looks to be called by the coaches to intentionally injure the receiver. There is excessive holding from the DB, who is watching his teammate for the timing of the incoming hit and releases just in time. I don't know about a bounty, but injuring their opponents is definitely part of CSUs game plan

These types of dirty hits can ruin someones entire career (and long-term health). The penalties should be FAR more severe than a 15 yard penalty. State was too aggressively minded, being mediocre and under hyped compared CU, wanted prove their manhood. Blackburn’s hit on Hunter should have been a removal and showed again by Samson’s cheap head shot on QB Sander in the final minutes that got him thrown out. State didn’t have to resort to dirty plays, they played very well and enough to win but QB Sanders heroics saved them. Only showed poor character traits of these two players and reflects on their coach.

This was a set play, of course he told him to do that. Watch the DB look to his incoming team mate while excessively holding the receiver. His job was to hold him in position and make him blind to the incoming hit, then release him in position and at the right time to get blown up. If the ncaa had balls, both players and the coach would be suspended... for the season.

I think it was more of the safety made up his mind about what he was going to do as soon as the ball was released because he could’ve easily picked the ball by he was staring at Travis the whole time instead, I watched the play in x.25 and his head never looks at the ball after it is thrown just at Travis so if I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt you could say he didn’t know exactly where the ball was at. He got tunneled on Travis.
