Can't fill the gap by pen tool...if I press crnl+spc it will increase the size in total...pls help...

Make sure the path/spine of the heart is selected and then add a anchor point, this should fix the problem if not then go to Object>Blend>Reverse Spine. If the problem still exists then try watching the video again and do everything as shown in the video.
