Just got my EVO EVL 34 and I'm blown away. It shot bullet holes right out of the box, so we didn't need to mess with the shims or yokes. My very first set was at 55 yards and had a 6" diameter group. It holds freakishly steady.

The Inside Out Precision guy had a good video today on excessive wear on the stock cable guard. I checked my EVL 32 this morning and I also have wear grooves in the carbon guard. I ordered the TAP replacement.
@KnightsoftheApex3 жыл бұрын
I have started to notice some wear but it’s been purely cosmetic. What’s interesting is my Xpedite and NXT31 never showed any signs of wear. I would definitely make sure the screws that hold the rod in place haven’t backed out any.

I just got a Evo Evl 34 and the archery shop I got it from does the initial setup and tune. However when paper tuning it they said it had to be reshim. The rest had to be on the far right just to get a bullet one. They couldn’t do it that day and had the option the leave it. I told them I’ll take it to do it myself. I do have my own bow press equipment to tune and setup a bow myself. They told me that in order to do it I had to completely remove the strings and fully relax the bow. Remove the limbs from the pocket vs doing all this from the press. What a pain in the ass. I had to do it twice to get the arrow down the middle of the rest. The shimming is a pain. I can’t stand it because I got spoil from the Elite SET system. It took me like 30 mins to completely setup the bow and tune it because of the SET system Elite has. But anyways, overall the Evo Evl is nice. No other issues other than the tuning of the shims sucks. Still going to take it back and have them check over it.

I hate to break it to you man but the shop was wrong. There is no reason you should have to shim an EVL if it is setup properly and your grip is correct.

I have a EVL 32 and I also run a front and side bar. Do you see any difference running the front bar in the lower hole? I’m running mine in the higher hole and never tried it lower. What’s the thinking with the lower set up?
@KnightsoftheApex3 жыл бұрын
I have preferred the lower setup on all my PSE’s. It lowers the overall center of gravity below your hand so the bow sits a bit more steady. I find I need less weight up front with that lower setup as well which in turn means less in the back and drops the overall weight of my bow a few ounces.

I’m trying to decide between the evo with 80lb limbs and the xpedite with 80 lb limbs. I shoot a stupid heavy arrow and want to flatten it out some. Currently have a bow tech destroyer 350. I think I have a 30 1/2” DL but the destroyer only goes out to 30 and have been shooting it for a little over 10 years. I want to get a bow that I can target shoot out to 100 and beyond so that when I go hunting I’m confident with the longer shots. Any advice? I’m leaning towards the evo for a more “shootable” bow but I just have a hard time going away from the possibility of more speed. Thanks

Hard call but you have to decide if based on your needs if that 5-10fps is more important than comfort. That will be the right call.

In my opinion, the NXT was a much better bow than the EVL. Very similar speeds, considerably more vibration, and hand shock than the NXT. Is it a real problem? No, but when you're paying top dollar for a bow, and there are better options out there... It just doesn't make sense to go with the worse option. The NXT felt more stable, and forgiving. The EVL just has an unfriendly feel to it. And dead in the hand is not a term that can/should be used to describe the EVL. Mathews are dead in the hand. The NXT was almost dead in the hand. The EVL is absolutely not dead in the hand, and you can tell just from watching it during its shot.
@TruffulaSteve3 жыл бұрын
This has been my experience with the EVL too. I prefer my NTN and even my Xpedite NXT to it. Not a bad bow by any means, but I honestly feel like the 2020 bows were better for almost all of the big manufacturers. I do dig the bloodline fibers strings though.
