I ways where before burning CD-Rs fur thing's like The Dreamcast, Saturn, PlayStation, 3DO, CDI, Neo Geo CD, SEGA CD, Apple Pippin, Jaguar CD or Amiga CD32. I always remand to use older hardware since an old $10 paw stop Windows 98 system can have CD-Buners that work at speeds like 2X. My Blu-ray burner will not burn CD-Rs and DVD-Rs at that low of an speed; So I had buy an PS2 freemcboot card online

Do all burned multi disc games work with this flash cart? Are there any games that don't work with this flash cart? Thanks for the video!

The bad thing about the Total Control 3 Adapter is that the connectors for the control port and DC Memory are are glued instead of Soldered.

I can't ever find a good deal on a Hori. When I see em on ebay for $30 but the shipping cost is always obscene

Great video!!! I just got a HORI fighting stick for my Saturn. When it comes to repros your right, pc engine cd repros can be scary because they often look just like the origional. "PCE works" makes some awesome repros though but it's important not to trick anyone. If your into the Saturn especially imports then you need pseudo saturn unless your rich. People think panzer dragoon saga is expensive, they need to check out the prices on the import shooters on the system. I wanted to play Hyper Duel and I had no choice but to buy a burn, that game is awesome but it's like $600!
@JediLennon6 жыл бұрын
+Baltimore Retro Gaming Thanks for watching you are right about those imports. Also I've been thinking a lot lately about sd card options since discs will rot one day even if the drives don't break but for now this works!

If you mean the ones for the repros or pseudo saturn they came from pug's treasures. I'm not sure where they were sourced from

I have to add a note here: upon further inspection of Pug's Treasures site, it does appear some "exact copy" Repro games are available such as Sega Dreamcast for example. This is surely a deal breaker to many people as I'm sure there are subtle differences in things like coloration or print quality on the disc /manuals themselves, it doesn't look like there is any "reproduction copy" notice anywhere to be found on those products :/

How do you burn mdf and mds files to play on the Saturn? Some files that claim are Saturn Files but are mdf and mds and not cue and bin files and not only won't run but fucks up the internal memory forcing a reformat loosing all you game saves. Everything on KZbin and Google say that mdf files are Playstation 2.

lucas carter Ouch- sorry, brother. I still got my Saturn from when I was working at Blockbuster and they were getting rid of them (since no one rented them). It's a Gen 1 that I beat to hell trying to get the swap trick to work- those screws were in there so long, it wasn't easy to achieve. I tapped it together and it works just fine- I only wish this soft mod arrived a bit earlier

Your Hori stick doesn’t have exposed screws. How? I thought they all had exposed screws.

Anyone burning games on a Mac? I got it to work perfectly (with.bin & .cue files, couldnt get mds files to work at all) but now Burn crashes every time I try to burn. Any other alternatives since ImgBurn isn't on mac?

Just ordered a pseudo cartridge on eBay and Panzer 2 & Saga from a site called Nightwing Reproductions. Fingers are heavily crossed. Those 2 games are rediculously overpriced. Could have bought Saga years ago for around $100 and passed. I hope it’s worth the hype

natr0n It's easy enough to put pseudo saturn on an Action Replay cart
@DarthSamuraiRyuu6 жыл бұрын
the problem with rayman is because it must be an optimized to 50hz PAL version there are few european saturn games optimized to PAL 50hz and that cuts the image when you force them on 60hz
@JediLennon6 жыл бұрын
+DarthRyuu actually I thought that too but I ended up finding a different rip of the right version and burning it with alcohol 120 instead I believe, and it worked! Thanks though good looking out and thanks for watching!

Do you have to patch the games in order for them to work with pseudo saturn?
@JediLennon6 жыл бұрын
+Marvin Macias not usually from what I have seen. I patched the region on a few games I burned but I realized later I don't think it really matters anyway. Maybe it did on an older version or something but the cart I have plays Japanese games too. I did find a lot of files online that just wouldn't work and I'm not sure why so that's worth noting. For example with the resolution issue I had with burning Rayman, I ended up finding another dump of the game online that burned just fine! Thanks for watching. I'm definitely no expert but I hope the video was useful.

Thanks for responding. I just bought a pseudo cart and I'm playing with it. I also make dreamcast and ps2 repros and I'm starting on saturn right now. Eric from pugs treasures is a good friend of mine. His work is amazing isnt it?
@JediLennon6 жыл бұрын
+Marvin Macias yeah I like his work! Thanks again for watching have fun with the cart!
@dondraper38986 жыл бұрын
Marvin Macias For Panzer Dragoon Saga, you have to select an option with the Action replay cart I think
@sfkid94454 жыл бұрын
Where did you buy it from?
@JohnSmith-xx1lx6 жыл бұрын
If you just get Pseudo Saturn then you don't even need Action Replay right?
@JediLennon6 жыл бұрын
+John Smith nope
@JohnSmith-xx1lx6 жыл бұрын
So what would even be the point of getting Action Replay then?
@JediLennon6 жыл бұрын
+John Smith the only point would be A) You only want to have the additional RAM or you want to play imports but NOT burned games B) you want to flash Pseudo Saturn. The action replay is what was released in stores as a third party product for use in the Saturn memory expansion port. Pseudo Saturn is just software someone wrote later on and figured how to flash onto a cart to use the software. There was a time when there was no Pseudo Saturn software but there WERE action replay carts available at retail stores. At the time those features couldn't be found elsewhere so it was desirable. Hope that makes sense :)

Do the panzer dragoon series work?
@JediLennon7 жыл бұрын
+Patrick Mcintyre Panzer Dragoon 2 works but I had to manually select the second of the two available Pseudo Saturn versions to get it to load. I haven't tried backups of the other games.

@JediLennon7 жыл бұрын
+Ren Rez I'm well thanks, I hope you are too. Yes it seems to be a simple solution for playing backups and imports. Works well from my experience! Thanks for watching!
@leehyatt766 жыл бұрын
So how do you save with the Pseudo Saturn Cart? Thanks!
@JediLennon6 жыл бұрын
Lee Hyatt I thought I would be able to save games but actually Pseudo Saturn only features the RAM expansion and playing backups while you lose the game save feature you have with a normal action replay. Sadly you will have to make sure you have enough space on your system memory still if your want to save games. Alternately you could buy a normal action replay that isn't flashed and just use that to save games for your regular Saturn games and use system memory for your import or backup game saves. However, I've heard the cartridge port tends to wear out and fail somewhat easily after repeated uses so keep that in mind as well I suppose..... Thanks for watching!
@leehyatt766 жыл бұрын
Of course! Great video! Since I have been using an Action Replay cart since I got my Saturn, I need to figure out how to check my system memory and whether or not I need to change the battery. I've never done that so I am not sure what data would be at risk when changing the battery but I am sure that I can find that information somewhere. Checkout @RantingSpidermanTV's video. He's inspired me to try this with Panzer Dragoon Saga, but what would be the point in playing an RPG if you can't save!!
@JediLennon6 жыл бұрын
+Lee Hyatt yeah you can access the system memory by booting up without any disc and going into the "system settings" arrow icon. From there choose "memory manager" and then "remove item". It will give you a list of all the games and how many blocks they take up. If you select one it will ask remove yes or no? If you want to return to the main menu without deleting anything just press the "access" (reset) button on the console. If you haven't changed your battery recently like the last year or so I say do it now anyway. I think if you are fast changing it you won't lose data but maybe you could use an action replay to transfer saves to and from for safe keeping also?
