As someone that have played almost all the castlevanias since my childhood, I grant you I never saw an Dracula fight as good as that. That attack when he grabs the tower was awesome. Konami would do great in leting others studios make Castlevania games.

From what I’ve seen of the original fight, Dracula’s final form has been brought from around a 3 to an 11

Around 1 to 11 to be more specific, SotN or Rondo's fight against dracula is lame (those two are what the fight and Dracula's final form is based off)

This DLC is based of Castlevania Symphony of the Night, that's where Richter was still alive, Maria wasn't a 12 year old girl (which was op btw) and Alucard tries to disrupt his legacy. Yes there are several Easter eggs and details for the love of Motion twin towards SotN (Dead Cells had inspiration off of it, for example, Alucard can be seen in the Normal Castle as a painting, the red shield is a reference to Alucards shield, that's why they look so alike, etc)

The name of Castle Outskirts is shown like that because that's how it appears in the prologue of SotN, some weapons of the official game are Easter eggs too and so on

Even though I had 34 Survival scrolls, wolf traps, stun grenade, and Throwable Objects, it was literally impossible to get crits on the second phase and the damage was little more than chip damage.

I made that mistake too. Only fought him once, and I was using baseball bat + wolf trap. First phase flawless, second phase... well... i managed to beat him but my god the damage was heart breaking

This is the absolute best DLC by far! Such a huge nostalgia trip for me, as someone who grew up on the DS era of Castlevania and Symphony of the Night. All the weapons are fun and representative of their original counterparts, and the boss fights don't disappoint either! One small thing, Pseychie: the "Medusa-like creature" is actually just Medusa! You commonly see her heads flying around in the Castlevania games. But that boss is actually Medusa herself, not a Medusa-inspired creature!

You can see they spent a lot of time on the final version of the boss fight trying to make it unique and stuff. Very creative I think Motion Twin is my favourite Game Studio and Dead Cells is defs in my top 5 favourite games seriously love it!!!

5:25 Shoutout to the Legendary variant. Lets you throw out two instead of one and it feels every bit as good in Dead Cells as it did in OG Castlevania. 18:25 Friendly tip, the bats that Dracula spawns can be used to clear a curse. Something to keep in mind if you decide to go for the Cursed Chest.

an interesting combo you might wanna try, if you wield Alucard's sword AND shield, you have a new combo of attacks that use sword attacks and parries with shield in a new attack pattern . its super fun!

This dlc has inspired me to start playing some of the Castlevania games. I was playing the anniversary collection and I liked the SNES remake of the first game (which I thought was pretty unfair at points). Also Symphony of the Night is amazing. Decently challenging and it holds up really well for a game from the late 90s I believe. Pseychie I think you might enjoy it some, it’s definitely a metroidvania. Also the entire series of games has fenomenal music, turn on the castlevania soundtrack in dead cells if you haven’t already.

From what I tried out, the death scythe and alucards shield work great together. You can use the shield for some really nice damage while parrying.

God, I have such a bias for scythes, but deaths scythe? With a badass effect and animation? And uts survival with good attack speed? And has a badass legendary like tombstone? Easily my favorite from the dlc, if not now my favorite in the entire game. The only downside is its not amazing in bosses.

Great run, super fun to watch ! I went to late game dracula's castle only once so far, and that's a shame because the yellow thing that teleported you didn't work for me. I knew something was up because the camera panned and it looked like a lore room, but I couldn't interact with anything... I'll try again and hope it works next time

I got legendary bat volley like hours after the release, it was awesome. Whip Sword is my favorite new weapon, the entire dlc is awesome though. I love it very glad hope all people keep enjoyin it too

Death scythe is the best weapon there is. Kill 1 or 2 mobs with it and they will clear all the trash for you in a few min. Pair that wtfh Crows wing and you can clear a biome in a minute because as you fly and target mobs, your minions follow you and tag anyone within sight.

The scaling of weapons, doesn't matter if the scythe is legendary, if it is Scythe III it will not be better than a Scythe X

@@ruffus_da_foxo yeah I know that but the Legendary version has the affix "enemies killed by ghost become ghost themselves", which the normal one doesn't have, and it keeps the snowball going stronger.

@@tanatduong4992 The ghosts will scale with the health they had before dying, but the scythe itself will be weaker than a new one, be legendary or not, and a weak weapon is of no use here, doesn't matter for affixes or anything, take in example a bossfight or the first enemies of a zone (the ghosts might be acting like a snowball but that snowball can break very easily)

Sadly as a shield addict the deaths scythe isn't the best option to pair up with them due to ghosts being to effective at stunning and killing enemies, now Bible and Alucard sword though.... Additionally the cat can actually scratch out hidden items in walls if it's near them while in wondering mode. Also you think nobody noticed yakuza music?

Pseychie, why don't you use Aspects? Since you have all the Boss Cells unlocked, you could only benefit from it. Ever since I've unlocked all the Cells, I started using Aspects, because they make the game more interesting, and more satisfying, as you get to deal more DMG, be immune to Acid or just get more Cursed Chests, without the risk of dying from the Curse.

I was actually just thinking before that Roguelikes are essentially an alternative to the live service model, in that there are really a limited number of ways developers try and keep their games relevant for longer periods of time. Certainly Dead Cells would have remained a “cult hit” without any expansions, and you’d still go back to do some runs, but I imagine you’d then put the game down and go on to the latest and greatest thing. I honestly find the whole live service model is starting to get a little distasteful, with games essentially competing to dominate your game time. A game like Dead Cells that says “hey, come back if you want, we added new stuff. No daily requirements, nothing to keep up with for the sake of staying competitive. Just come on back and enjoy some runs.” is a much better way of doing it, far as I’m concerned.

How do I unlock boss cells? I was told I have to change the difficulty, but I'm not sure how to do that? I've beat the hand of the king three different times now, but I just started playing dead cells a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it! It's extremely addictive Haha But I'm still trying to figure out how I can unlock my first BC, because I don't have the option to activate the tube that holds the BC's at the begging of the start (the option doesn't even pop up, but I've seen it say "Activate" on other people's screen) Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!

If you're using aspects or you're in custom mode I'm pretty sure you can't unlock the nest BC. Hopefully u figure out tho The way u adjust it is the tube under where it shows how many items you've unlocked in the starting room
