Ogre Oustin' (Japanese: 鬼退治フェス Demon Extermination Festival) is a minigame introduced in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero - Part 1: The Teal Mask for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.[1]
The player first gains access to Ogre Oustin' when the Festival of Masks begins, which happens after visiting the second sign as part of the story.
In Kitakami, Ogre Oustin' is a special activity passed down as a tradition since long ago, which opens up in the Festival of Masks. Inspired by the story of the Loyal Three Pokémon's battle against Ogerpon, the game uses four different colored balloons resembling each of Ogerpon's masks. Mochi can only be acquired by participating in Ogre Oustin'.
While riding Koraidon / Miraidon, players collect berries by popping Ogre Balloons and bring them to the Berry Tables for points before the time runs out. Once one of the tables has berries in it, wild Pokémon will begin to appear walking towards the tables to eat the collected berries, which will reduce the score. Players can fend off invading Pokémon by pressing R to roar and scare them away. There are three modes for players to choose from with each one increasing in number of stages and difficulty.
Easy: 3 stages
Normal: 6 stages
Hard: 10 stages
Various maps are available though they are randomly selected. The timer will reset between each stage, with the required amount of berries increasing. The period between each stage allows players to move around the map to quickly spread out before the timer begins.
Reward for clearing Easy mode for the first time is Exp. Charm, and clearing Normal mode for the first time rewards the Fairy Feather. After completing Hard mode for the first time, players receive a shiny Munchlax that has the Crafty Mark. All rewards after are varying amounts of Mochi, Feathers, Berries, and Evolution items, which include Prism Scale, Unremarkable Teacup and Razor Fang among others.
There are four Pokémon that can appear as invaders. Skwovet and Munchlax appear in lower stages, Greedent starts appearing in middle stages, while Snorlax appears in higher stages and is the fastest between them.
Ogre Oustin' can be played with up to three other players, via online or local wireless connection. Players are encouraged to divide up tasks - for example, one player could focus on gathering far-off berries, while another focuses on defending the already-collected berries in the Berry Tables.
Ogre Oustin' is a new minigame in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) Teal Mask DLC. It allows players to earn Mochi for adjusting their Pokemon's EVs. This guide provides details on the Ogre Oustin' minigame, including difficulty differences, solo vs. multiplayer, strategies, and rewards.
The Exp. Charm makes its return as a reward for clearing Ogre Oustin' for the first time during the Story.
Exp. earned from battle will be 1.5 times more than it was before. You don't need to have Pokemon hold it, it's in your Key Items pocket and affects your whole team.
The Fairy Feather is a new item that can be obtained as a reward after completing all 6 Normal difficulty rounds of Ogre Oustin'. This item is a held item that boosts the power of the holder's Fairy-type moves.
You must first clear Easy Difficulty to obtain the Fairy Feather from clearing Normal Difficulty in multiplayer. Failing to do so before joining and completing Normal Mode in someone else's game will result in you not receiving the Fairy Feather.
If you are lucky and/or skilled enough to beat all 10 rounds of Ogre Oustin' on Hard Difficulty, the lady will reward you with a Shiny Munchlax that has the Crafty Mark. Applying this mark grants Munchlax the Opportunist title. It also sports its Hidden Ability, Gluttony.
You must clear both Easy and Normal Difficulty Levels and claim their rewards in your own game to be eligible for the Shiny Munchlax reward. If you join someone else's Hard Difficulty game before doing so, you won't receive the Shiny Munchlax upon winning.
Ogre Oustin' is the only way to get mochi, a new item which increases EVs for one stat by 10 akin to Vitamins.
One of the types of mochi you can earn is the Fresh-Start Mochi, which resets the base points for all stats of a Pokemon.
For every run you complete, you'll receive an assortment of rewards that could include various types of Mochi, EV Reducing Berries, Mints, Feathers, EXP. Candies, and Tera Shards.
However, the Treasures, Rare Berries, and Evolution Item rewards appear to draw from a pool of possible items. Here's a list of rewards our team has confirmed to be obtainable from Ogre Oustin'.
We recommend always playing on the highest available difficulty to maximize your chances of obtaining a wider variety of items in greater quantities. Higher scores yield more rewards. Higher difficulty rounds, lasting longer, naturally offer more stages to clear, balloons to pop, a
