How to fix slow or insanely long downloads on Playstation Network.

December 2021 update: First I want to thank everyone who has watched this video and commented, it means a lot to get feedback. Secondly I want to let people know this is NOT guaranteed to work or fix all downloading issues, it’s worked for me in the past and worked for others but keep in mind it’s not a guarantee just a quick fix idea, I sincerely hope this helps but if not make sure your console is connected to the internet via Ethernet cord if possible as it will always be faster than Wifi (I understand some people will already know that) but some may not. Same here. Still an issue in October 1st 2019. I have 1gigabit connection speed, and a $430 ASUS router that is all updated with Wi-Fi 6. I'm pulling over 500 megabits on my phone via Wi-Fi. PS4 still takes over 3 hours for a 20gb game.

Yea I have this problem but mines like 99+ hours and to add salt to the wound my ps will randomly shut off and reset the download back like 5-10 gigs. Or just flat reset the download all together. I've been trying to be download Ghost recon Breakpoint and that's a 51.948 gig game but still takes literally forever and any progress it makes it just resets. I'm honestly tempted to sell my ps as a result of this shit

It doesn't restart the update, it just continues downloading. For example you have 4GB downloaded out of 6, you pause and unpause and then it will say 0GB downloaded out of 2.

2020 and this is still an issue. Trying to download Ghost of Tsushima and it says that the game plus the bonus content will be over 60 hours... This trick brought it down to about 15 hours which is still way to long when I can download games on my PC as large as Ghost of Tsushima in a fraction of the time even while having other programs running and using the internet.
