well, i think this game story had destiny for all 3 of the character. Markus is Destiny to be the Leader, no one else can take his place if they want machined to win it had to be Markus. Although I like the ending where Connor first becomes deviant on the ship I do enjoy the ending scene where he stays a machine on the ship then gets off the roof and when he has the choice to shoot or to not shoot Markus I thoroughly enjoy the one where he chooses not to shoot as it’s like it’s finally broken through and he’s learned and turned into a deviant. It’s fantastic really in my opinion.

my first playthrough was a perfect peaceful revolution with Connor intentionally not being deviant but failing to stop Markus... and then the Amanda thing happened... I wanted that to be the moment for Connor to back down, but I couldn't find the back door. No idea what to look for. That game gave me a crazy rollercoaster of emotions. Of course, as Kamski said in that secret interview: "no matter how closely they imitate humans, they are still just machines." After watching the Detroit: BH playthroughs, I feel like I understand the underlying theme a little better. Here's my what-ifs on the background and I would wish for a little feedback on what you think is wrong or right with my theories: I feel like the most realistic reason of Detroit: Become Human, is that Markus was an android sent by Kamski. Markus would either 1.) win a revolution by the ability of the ra9 virus to disobey commands and follow its own decisions while Kamski allows this to happen, 2.) Kamski can use Markus once he has control of the entire android population as leverage against Cyberlife for whatever reason he left (or if he wanted back in), or maybe 3.) Make sure the rebellion would happen so that he could return to his position as CEO for Cyberlife. There is always the possibility that Markus could be designed to lead androids to a victory march, but remember: Kamski developed the original algorithm for the android's programming. Whatever he did, he probably also made sure he could have a backup program that led to Cyberlife losing their control on them, just in case he wanted his old job back and needed a reason. If anyone wants to know why machines are disobeying their masters, why not ask the man who built the program in the first place? Come to think of it, why didn't the Cyberlife police brute-force their way into Kamski's place and forced information out of him? I think Connor was the antagonist which Cyberlife wanted to use to prevent the uprising. By contrast to Markus, an RK-200 series, he is an prototype model - the RK-800 Android sent directly from Cyberlife. His model included a self-regulating test which allowed the humans to check on its progress daily. But he is still based off the original algorithm that Kamski made; which means he, too, has the ability to exit the self-regulating test and disobey commands - especially useful for Kamski, who does not want Cyberlife to interfere with his own creations. But Connor has to have a high enough software instability in order for this to work, for without the instability, the self-regulating test will allow him to be hacked, especially if he depends on it a lot. In my opinion, Connor in the game has at least three choices: 1.) He can find the escape button, leave his own "obedience" algorithm, and follow Markus. If he never died throughout the entire playthrough his software instability will be so high that it is almost impossible for him to choose to be controlled, but Cyberlife has the rebellion at a perfect spot and will always activate their self-regulation test when Markus is on the podium, during which Connor can find the escape and stop Cyberlife or lose and Connor will have completed the mission that Cyberlife set him out for - controlling or stopping the rebellion. 2.) Connor can defect from the deviants, cleverly gets Markus kicked (or conveniently Markus gets himself kicked out), becomes the new leader of Jericho, and then gets controlled by Cyberlife to order androids to do whatever they want to do. But he was never programmed to be a leader. He was programmed to be a detective. There is a reason Markus specifically becomes the new leader of the androids - he was a gift of Kamski to Carl Manfred. Meaning, Markus was Kamski's prototype, while the Connor series was Cyberlife's prototype. Previous versions of androids did not have a self-regulatory test, but Connor did. 3.) Connor kills himself to prevent Cyberlife from controlling himself and other androids. All androids carry deactivation codes, of course. But Kamski has an escape program probably for two reasons: 1.) the original algorithm prevents androids from putting up with or accepting abuse from humans, as a means of protecting PEOPLE, NOT just androids. If an android is suffering abuse, it probably means that the person is mentally unstable. 2.) the deactivation codes may be unhelpful if the android is actually helping a victim of abuse and manages to protect them as Kara did with what she thought was a child (Alive), so whatever Kamski did, he also allowed the original algorithm to cancel the deactivation codes. This can have adverse consequences, as we see with Daniel in the beginning chapter. But now that I think about it, I don't know if those theories can make sense. How about another theory: Kamski originally intended to create the ultimate Turing Test machine, a machine that could similate human feelings, thoughts, and emotions so well that people would not be able to tell them apart. He could create the ultimate machine - but what could they be used for? Cyberlife decided to answer that. They bought his models - though not his algorithm, and placed obedience-restrictors on the newer models and mass produced them, selling them for ridiculous profits, completely unbalancing the economics of Detroit and creating a massive boom which ruins employment and businesses, while creating a city that becomes completely dependent on these "slaves". Cyberlife advertised the androids as "whatever-you-wannabe's", promising to fulfill mankind's need for happiness and convenience now rather than later. So the androids became a part of extreme capitalism, instead of Kamski's intended idea of advanced cybernetical machines of data and human emotion. It may be why Kamski is so calm and peaceful about the whole time Hank and Connor are there - he knew that Cyberlife were the ones who really messed up by thinking they could simply sell his masterpiece, and he doesn't want to fix their mess. Bro just explained a lot of the plot holes its not a clearcut explanation but it makes the most sense and makes kamski a lot more interesting Guess the only plot hole is that just because Markus is kicked out or killed Connor can't escape the hacking program. Like you said it could be cyberlife's plan but he can still have the same high software instability as the other run, as long as markus is the one who gets himself kicked out or killed. He should be able still to overcome Cyberlife's hacking attempts completely. Plus in the one where he's in the crowd listening to the speech, which you get by being a machine but giving up shooting Markus when on the rooftop with Hank who makes Connor reconsider, Connor is able to find the backdoor and refrain from shooting Markus without killing himself! Does he not trust himself enough to lead the revolution, or is Cyberlife relentless in hacking him once he's leader? Just because he's programmed with the self-regulation test which Markus doesn't have, he has to shoot himself when Markus isn't around? Is Connor always fighting the hacking attempts, or is he only able to overcome it completely in VERY specific circumstances, or is this just a plothole I have a feeling it's just another scene written to be dramatic but with not much logical reason, like the whole "who's real connor?!?!" at the tower.

It's kinda shitty that deviant Connor can't be the leader if he ends up the only one left. The suicide option doesn't make a lot of sense. When he (spoilers) uses the emergency exit with Markus/North/Jericho, Amanda no longer has control and Connor moves on. So why, when done in this scenario, does he go through with the suicide? It's understandable if his character just isn't the leader type (because he's really not) but it doesn't mean the option should be completely denied when in other routes it's capable.

Actually, in the ending you use for your example, that scene (to me) implies that Conner is still not completely in control. Or at least going to be struggling with Amanda in his head. Think about the scene again. If you manage to escape, then the camera takes a shot at everyone’s faces. They all look pretty happy. But then the camera pans to Conner, and he isn’t smiling much at all. The music even ends on a sour note. So it’s likely Conner isn’t simply free of Amanda once that happens. So, with that knowledge, it would make sense that Conner would commit suicide once taking back control. It’s likely Amanda would try to resume control over his program again, and sooner or later he won’t make it to that button in time. It wouldn’t be logical to take that chance, and so Conner kills himself.

It makes somewhat sense to me. From the give up ending and Amandas dialogue 'we will do great things together' makes it sound really negative. If amanda anticipated this she's technically been 'controlling' Connor from the start and it makes sense If he realised that he couldn't get rid of her and shed constantly be in control. To me out of the options, suicide made sense and was actually the 'happiest' ending because it meant Connor used his free will and escaped Amandas control. Even tho he dead

To everyone: Don't be really sad, because if Hank survives and you choose (As Connor) to not suicide, you still can see a cutscene where Connor hugs Hank There I have 3 theories: 1. Connor didn't really give up (never gonna give you up!), and he then broke out from their control (like in other endings, where he just really leave cyberlife) 2. He already got out of Cyberlife control and Amanda WANTS Connor to commit suicide (You know, better for them to kill deviant leader than Control him, because after some time the androids will notice he's not deviant behavior) 3. He's just really good at faking emotions.

I think it actually makes sense the way Amanda is written. The bottom line of everything Amanda tells Connor is: "Cyberlife is in control, no matter the situation. We foresee and prepare for everything, every option you could ever think of; we have prepared for the consequences of every outcome, every choice you could ever think to make." It's so demoralising to Connor, because even if he tries to escape, there's the constant terror of being pretty much possessed against his will. And if Cyberlife truly prepared for EVERY possible outcome, then who's to say he's not unintentionally and unconsciously carrying out Cyberlife's plans anyway, even without their possession of him? What if their programming of him runs so deep that even his deviancy is controlled by them, without him ever realising it? It's all to communicate to Connor that no matter what he does, there is no escape...so why even try?

The irony here is that usually you get this scene if your don't trust Connor. And even if Connor had gone deviant he'll come back this way. There's also a scene where you can talk to a revolutionary Markcus and you can let him go or you can kill him. Machine Connor has that choice. This one's a little nicer this one predisposes because Connor was already deviant at one point that Connor might still be deviant this is the reason you got the choice. Another variation is if you wind up on the rooftop with Hank if you have a high affinity with Hank and your best friends and Connor has had doubts. He's going to put that sniper rifle down and walk away it doesn't matter what you want because his friendship to Hank is enough to sway him. He instantly does what Hank asked him to do even if he doesn't like it.

She's making it all up to pretend she's still in control. One thing a business won't want to do is admit mistakes. Amanda doesn't want to admit that Cyber Life failed, not with Cyber Life still capable of regaining control over Connor. So she lies and tells him that all of the revolution was planned, though it makes zero sense. The writers must have been drunk writing that part of the script.

But CyberLife (Kamski) created androids for taking control. RK model was created for convert all of the others (and that’s NOT freedom, they don’t have a choice). So, they are not free. They will never be free. They have the illusion of freedom. But they are machines. This is sad, but true.

Even though you can't shoot Amanda, I think she still gets what she deserves. If Connor becomes deviant and escapes the snow land, he basically erased his entire mission programming and software, thereby erasing Amanda with it. Now Amanda is all but nothing and left to be forgotten
