After about 1,000 rounds against Masq, players just get used to Masq's attack patterns well enough 😆 I'm not aware if there's a guide for counter-attack timing, I feel like it's something that can only be learned through experience Personally, I started learning how to dodge and counter properly through Phaleg 😆

Hi! I have the "L/Jumping Dodge" / "Leaping Dodge (L)" ring equipped and activated it for a high jump, then added a normal jump after to increase my altitude a bit more 😆 Masq's jump attack (4:42) can hit us in mid-air, and I avoided that one by using "Vapor Bullet" / "Bulletblitz", which grants a short i-frame while moving The following 3 slashes can be avoided while high enough in mid-air, but the final burst attack from the ground (4:50) can reach us even at that height I "blocked" that attack by shooting a fully charged sword weapon action, which grants a guard frame at the moment it is shot

That's okay, take your time, Masq is kind of like Phaleg, which is deliberately designed to be a challenging opponent Considering Masq's resistance gimmick, aggressiveness/attack patterns, and summoned clones, certain classes will also have a harder time against him Equipment is another factor, and I don't recommend going in with less than ★13 weapons

Hero talis does have normal attacks, and can be used for active PP recovery; it's Hero TMG that consumes PP even with normal attacks In this video, I was mostly using Hero counter-attacks using talis to recover some PP, but I was also depending on Lightstream's weapon potential to fully recover PP

Counter-attacks (except with TMG) can recover PP quickly For my TMG, I had Radiating Grace on my S1, S2, and S3 slots I was also using Lightstream talis here, which can completely refill PP (0:29 and 3:45) I also used Hero Refresh, which completely recovers HP and PP (0:45) Finally, I also took the HT Counter PP Gain skill, which recovers 30 PP for successful dodges while Hero Time is active

Okay, I think I get what you mean now 😆 I'm assuming you're playing on NA/global server? I don't know up to what patch they applied, but Hero talis did get a mobility adjustment some time mid-EP5 in JP server, which allowed Hero to move while performing talis normal attacks That is to say, with talis, Hero players can move a little further with step attack I made a little demo video just now, check it out here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2Ssc4mcbdmSl8k The first part is step + attack only, and I dropped Dimates to mark the spot where I landed after each forward step attack The second part is a step + move attack, which you'll notice reaches further than the marked spots 🙂

Yes I am, and there are Hero players who are a lot better than me 😆 Ideally, Hero would have affixes for all ATK stats as well as plenty of HP and PP, but that sort of affix costs a lot of meseta (around half a billion) What I personally end up with is affixing primarily for one ATK stat, but keeping the other ATK stats reasonably close I also make sure that I have a decent amount of HP and PP 🙂 Here's the current equipment details on my Hero character: bit.ly/30OTkKn

Hi! I'd say there are several factors involved :) Hero Counter helps a lot in recovering PP while Masq attacks aggressively. I also add Talis normal attacks in between my PA rotations. Of course, there's also the fact that I'm using Lightstream talis, which can fully recover my PP. As for the timing of when to use which weapon, I guess it's kind of the result of having fought Masq so many times. My weapon rotation is generally as follows: 1. Use Talis to build up Hero gauge 2. Once Hero Gauge is 50%, switch to TMG and activate Hero Refresh 3. Use TMG until Brand New Star counters and Moment Trick are resisted 4. Switch to Sword and mix Vapor Bullet, Rising Slash, and counter attacks 5. Swtich to Talis upon spawning clones and use Hero Time Finish 6. Switch to Sword upon Masq's "Over End" phase 7. Switch to Talis once Sword counter and PAs are all resisted It might not be the best strategy, but it works well for me :) Thanks for watching!

However now I'm left wondering if it is the Anga Fundarge kind of resistance... But for PAs and basic attacks individually. On a semi-related note: Brand New Star says it increces its power upon a successful dodge of an attack. Does that depend on having Hero Counter learned or is it its own thing? Because if it's the former, it's not exactly conveyed clearly...

Hi! Hero Counter recovers a bit more PP than a normal attack, and since Masq attacks very aggressively, the frequency of counter attacks helps a lot in keeping PP up :D Talis counters are especially great since it shoots 3 projectiles And if Hero Time is active & HT Counter PP Gain is learned, then Hero Counter recovers significantly a lot more PP :) For the resistance mechanics, yes, it sort of works like that. With Masq, the resistance is indeed based on the attack, PA, or action individually. However, unlike Anga, there's no limit to the number of attacks that he can resist. And worse, when Masq resists an attack, that attack will deal 0 damage, so it's important to have a variety of attacks against him. For Brand New Star counter, it's the latter :D

Hi! Yes, I believe PSO2 is still among the best action RPGs available 🙂 There are plenty of contents now compared to 6 years ago, and we still get updates every two weeks The game mechanics hasn't changed much, but there are now a lot more classes now to play with The highlights right now are 1) the new class to be released in winter, and 2) the official PSO2 West server to be released some time in 2020 I recommend checking out other gameplay videos too so that you'll get a better idea of what to expect, as most of my videos cover late game stuff If ever you plan to play in Japan server, you may want to use Tweaker (see here: arks-layer.com/) It'd be a good idea to join the Discord group too (discord.gg/pso2), so that it'd be easier to ask for help or make new friends

Hero has a passive skill called "Hero Will", which saves the player from getting incapacitated once per quest I was also using the Atlas Ex weapons here, which also grants the same life-save effect as "Hero Will", so I practically had 3 lives here 😆 For the healing, it's the lifesteal effect from Elder Pain 🙂

Yeah, that was a multi-hit attack 😆 I was able to dodge the first hit, but I wasn't quick enough to perform the counter-attack

I don't think you can do counter attack faster tho but not getting i frame for dodging an attack is kinda bad all you can do is move other ways before that attack
