@stvgrz93945 жыл бұрын
This is great idea bro. I have 1 not working 3rd party battery and a psp that cant be charge through the charger port because the solder pad where the charger port connection has been attached to is pull out from the mobo itself. So i need this project and going to use it.
@CanadianZangief5 жыл бұрын
Awesome man. The only downside is the battery life if it’s the only way you can get yours to run. Maybe get some high cap eneloop batteries to get the most out of them. 👍 Have fun with the mod!

Terry The 2D Maniac thank you kindly =D it’s not an ideal situation for long play but great for quick pick up and plays. I get about 2-3 hours off the batteries.

@@CanadianZangief that's the average for a rechargeable one too in my experience, and according to a quick google search 2.5-3 hours. you can disable Wi-Fi to get a little more out of it. I'm curious about something though: if you used rechargeable AAA batteries, could you recharge them in the PSP using that middle lead? either way, this is a great mod, especially given that PSP batteries are starting to bloat.

Is it possible to use 2 AAA or AA battery packs like you used and wire them together and have 1 on each side on the underside to give a grip area and more capacity?
@Pepsiman20065 жыл бұрын
Was just looking into doing this to my PSP Go. I'm hoping there is also a chip in its battery as well. If so then my only challenge may by designing a new back housing with the 3D printer since only 2 AAAs fit nicely in it. Thanks!
@CanadianZangief5 жыл бұрын
Pepsiman2006 I would love to see how that turns out! I have never owned a PSP Go but it’s been on my list to do some kind of mod with for a some time. I bet you can get away without 3D printing a case and buy a 3rd party protective case and creatively do some dremel work. Unless of course you have the 3D printer then why the heck not right haha

Would 3 AA battery's be too much? Just a quick question as wanted to modify mine by sticking a battery holder on the back with wires connected to the psp
@CanadianZangief6 жыл бұрын
3 AA will work just fine since they have the same 1.5V per battery as AAA. You would get a bit more power out of them as well but would no longer be able to hide them in the battery compartment.
@killer0man16 жыл бұрын
Canadian Zangief thanks mate I've ordered a battery holder to glue on the umd drive as there is no use for it on mine as I have cfw

Good mod, bro! I'll try this for sure. My plan is to use 4x AA eneloop rechargeable batteries (1.2 volts each) in total 4.8 volts, will that be okay or is it dangerous? since a normal psp battery only has 3.6 volts
@CanadianZangief7 жыл бұрын
+carlo tiotangco It should be ok as long as you always use the rechargeable. If your planning on going the rechargeable route I bet you could probably hook up a good 3rd party lithium ion from ebay and wire that into the battery pack and get some crazy battery life! I think that's what i'm going to do next time i'm feeling psp creative =D
@jtdcjtdc3 жыл бұрын
then use 3x AA batteries to get 3.6V. got some eneloop whites saying 1900mAh each so, i will try it. i tried eneloop pro AAA ones (950mAh) and they seem to last like an hour only or so, i have to cycle them up to get the most runtime.

wonder if you used rechargeable AAA batteries you could use the factory charger to recharge them?

Hey! Nice Video,, wanted to ask how long did the batteries last? Have you also tried a rechargeable batteries like the one being suggested by Ahned? Thanks in advance!
@CanadianZangief6 жыл бұрын
Thank you. glad you like it =D. Well i usually get about 2-3 hours out of top shelf disposables and about 1-2 hours from rechargeable. I use this as more of a pick up out of the blue kind of solution rather than for heavy use. I just recently made a mod and video for a huge rechargeable battery with the same principles being used. I get over 30 hours on the new mod!

@@CanadianZangief how do you use rechargable batteries on this mod? Is it the same process and the only difference is instead of normal batteries you use rechargeable one? +Dark_Magician04 I was using non rechargeable batteries for the mod and I left out the centre pin to keep the board from governing charging the device. In theory charging batteries should work. You would just need to wire up that centre pin.

@CanadianZangief6 жыл бұрын
As long as you can get it all to fit and wired in you can do without the glue I just like the extra stability.
@CanadianZangief6 жыл бұрын
You can use rechargeable batteries because that would be 1.2v x3 and they should charge fine but I would use caution charging them while inside the device. The protection circuit inside the stock battery is rated for LiPo batteries and may cause issues but I am not totally sure. If I were to use rechargeable batteries I would charge them in their own charger. I would consider a LiPo power pack for long play though. I made another video where I used a 10,000 mAh battery without physically altering the PSP. Good luck mate!

@CanadianZangief6 жыл бұрын
Maychel Tjang well the 10,000 mod I did rest in a hard plastic case along with the PSP so it’s more of a battery pack add on rather than going right inside it. As for Nihm batteries I am unsure if the LiPo protection circuit will be sufficient to charge them but they will absolutely work to power the PSP. You should get about 3-4 hours out of those eneloops. Since that 1.2V is being run in series to boost the voltage to 3.6
@ryannuaridwiputra89427 жыл бұрын
Can you charge it ?
@CanadianZangief7 жыл бұрын
+Ryan Nuari i had disposable batteries in mind for this. However, a rechargeable option is definitely doable but it's probably better off to find a 3.7V high MaH lithium ion battery and wire that in. Just need to find one small enough. Some people have used huge ones and modded the system to make it fit but i want to try and keep the hardware stock to preserve it. =D
