Thats most likely "recentering" which is not uncommon in Playstation--believed to be a software bug at the system level. But some games manage it much better than others and depending on your settings. Like GoW Ragnarok, i had nearly no issues with recentering. I run with Acceleration via Threshold Initial and Threshold Steadying and I can cut this out on the majority of situations. But there can be buggy issues especially with Recentering fighting you with too low of Steadying. That could be part of the problem there.

It's something at the playstation's software level. It's super annoying and tries to "recenter" you way too strongly and you end up fighting it whike it tried to pull you off target.

If you set initial scale to 0, the recentering starts to completely vanish at around a threshold of 60. The lower your sensitivity, the less this will happen, as the recentering only kicks in at a certain real world angular speed. Fall below this speed, and the recentering kicks in.

how does filick stick handle recoil. does it just recenter itself?

Flick Stick has no involvement with recoil. It simply turns your character/screen on the X axis. It only "recenters" your screen for you. Gyro aim is how you control recoil and all facets of aim. And it follows the same format as a PC mouse. So with stronger recoil, you have to move controller/mouse against it. With strong vertical recoil, you slightly tilt the controller down to stay on target. Whereas Aim Assist does a lot of the damn work for you lol. Now, if I need to recenter or reposition my controller, I use a Gyro Modifier (aka ratcheting) button where it temporarily shuts off Gyro Aim so my character does not move while moving my controller back into a comfortable position. Its the same concept as lifting the PC mouse.

@@BJgobbleDix Thanks! That last paragraph is what i was looking for! I didnt know how flick stick players " recentered" like how mouse ppl just lift up the mouse to center their mouse on the mouse pad.

Yes. I have it set to touching the Touch Pad to shut off Gyro Aim.

@pathchampion dont push the Touchpad in, just set your thumb on it. If thats opening the menu, then you may have this mapped somehow but I dont think thats possible.

@@BJgobbleDix just touching it doesn't work. Wierd, might be because I'm on PS4. Using flick stick without a ratchet function is no ideal.
