I have heard these systems being demonstrated at a recent guitar festival, I was blown away by the quality. They were being used by a heavy rock band and by an acoustic duo, absolutely fabulous.

Interesting. You two have different experiences. Maybe the negative comment was from a band that didn't tweak the system enough for the venue I think.

I might try one of these out; Bose does deliver great sound quality.

I love my L-1 Compacts for indoor venues. I need a little more volume for distance reach of the sound for my outdoor city event (no grass). Will putting 2 of these L1 speakers close together, or stacking them on chairs help? I am not open to upgrading at this time.

@LoveLustMusic I've done two contracts for Celebrity Cruises both as orchestra guitarist and trombonist and played many a variety of local shows ranging from symphony concerts to small clubs both solo and with groups and I've come to hate monitors more with every experience. However, on the ship they were not capable of sending me my own monitor mix which sucked. When monitors blasted back at us everyone bitched about each other's volume, including the guest entertainers. To each his own.

I couldn't agree more the Bose l1certainly isn't suitable for a band but absolutely fantastic for a duo or a solo singer I know because I bought one and it's fantastic

if the performers can hear the same sound as the audience, why do each of them need one system p;ace behind them?

Ive done many shows with the l1 system both as a musican and sound engineer. I was eager to hear them as they have alot of hype around them. However, for the amount you pay I think hey aren't worth it. Firstly compared to a proper pa speaker (even cheaper ones) they sound "plasticky" and thin. Then with the b1 you get a lot of highs and lows but not much inbetween. Sure they get loud but they sound harsh at higher levels. Also, I didn't like the fact that you cannot separate foh and on stage vo

I've performed live on stage and own my own recording studio with over 20yrs experience. I have to say I am not a fan of these new small line array systems such as bose or maui, they sound very thin and are useless in a big room. I would only recommend them to solo female artists who struggle to carry large p.a. the new generation of self powered plastic speaker cabinets blow these small line array systems away with depth of sound.

My obese uncle was able to make the best pole dancer there is in my town fall for him because he ran the Cupid Love System (Google it). It’s bad but I wish I’d been happy for him but I want such a gorgeous lady to fall in love with me. I am extremely jealous. Does that make me a lousy individual?
