fantastic as always peter. I really need to pick your brain about my own system and your thoughts. @7:23 is interesting. it sounds nice and crisp without harshness. very cohesive but I would disagree, it sounds like it needs that very last bottom octave from a sub just to reinforce the low end but then again its maybe personal preference mixed with the audio quality I can hear through good earphones here. either way, it does sound very nice. I think I tend to set my eq levels for a slightly less fatiguing sound just so I can play loud for long periods of time. I used to have it set more crisply, but I found after a while it could become a bit tiring to listen to so I make a slight trade off in pure reproduction values for a slightly less sharp sound. just knocking the tops of peaks of certain frequencies when listening for sibilance etc.
@myboy0514 жыл бұрын

I have a question peter, I'm doing a trunk build in my caddie, whats your opinion , on my box two hydrogen 12"" thinking firering the subs Back,and the port rear,firering through the rear seat arm rest, just wanted your opinion,subs back port foward
@pssound97494 жыл бұрын
Dennis Walker i’d have everything (subs+port) facing the same way to minimise group delay. Ported is not my cup of tea. If it’s a saloon, i’d do trunk IB with as much cone area as possible or sealed facing forward to isolate the subs from the trunk, so less rattles would cause issues.
@kana80944 жыл бұрын
Se oye súper exelente
@alimahdavi22764 жыл бұрын
Very nice build Peter! Nice of you to share your work with the world! Got a question tho. When you do infinite baffle subs in the trunk, especially with softer drivers, have you ever encountered the situation where there's a pressure difference between the cabin and the trunk (when the car moves high speed) and this pressure difference pushes the drivers diaphragm into the trunk? This has been a major issue for the couple IB builds I did... What would you do to treat the situation? . Thanks Peter! Edit: What I have in mind is porting the trunk but tuning it super low. It helps gain a good 6dB's and the group delay doesn't look bad down to 20Hz. What's your opinion?

I do understand the fact that mid bass in the doors have alot of resonance but and playing so low down to your legs eliminates alot of the frequency but if it's playing in the floor under your legs yes there are no resonance but it's still under your legs... again I've never heard a system of this kind so maybe that's why I don't understand the differences.... am planing a system and want the best SQ but want to be sure before cutting up my new car...
@pssound97492 жыл бұрын
Hi, Yes, this way the driver is underneath your leg too, but it’s perfectly fine in a 3way front configuration where the midbass only have to play under 200Hz. Please check out the RTA video of this project at the end of the playlist and that will clear up your confusion.

Hey pete so what would make it better as to dynamics the bigger amps because of the headroom.
@pssound97494 жыл бұрын
eduardo batista a small digital amp never has the reserves of a proper A/AB class amp, but they were built for different purpose.
@eduardobatista3294 жыл бұрын
So I get it on an average is great but for that last top hiend you need a zapco z or a mmatts 6150. Something with enough reserves. Now I understand what your saying.its noticeable even through your phone. I can tell in that job you did with the audison amp or the one with the zapco sp.where they have so much volume and reserve.it applies the same for a home all I one box solution or seperate components and a power amp at home. Well you know that. Ut the average person will not notice anything. Even the first series zapco z 150.6 would make a beautiful system . Two of those bridge. Getting 500 x 3 well actually 500x6 .but here in america so many brands. Alpine is good for mono and cheap. Like you said you can make great systems on a budget. Anything is better than factory syatems
