Thank you for sharing this unique and complex machine. It’s great that there’s now a wonderful restored version. I appreciate your technical and videography skills and look forward to seeing more.

Amazing how you restored the arithmometer. Even more amazing is how you remembered where each part goes and how you got the timing of the parts right. It looks much better than before and it works like a charm too. Excellent work in all areas.

Every time I watch these intricate disassemble is I can't help but think oh my goodness is he going to remember how this goes back together !? look at all the bolts he took out, and the gears and knobs! Is he ever going to remember how this goes back together !?............. and you do. ...and it is ever so satisfying!

They tend to take a lot of photos when disassembling the piece.

Thank you for not showing each turn to each screw, nut, bolt or pin! That's just agony. Also, great staging and editing. Altogether a good job of restoration and presentation. Thanks.👌

wow! I haven't seen one of these in years. We had one at the print shop I grew up in to calculate postage for mailers & newspaper ads. It was great because you didn't need to keep typing the numbers into a calculator, you just set it to the add amount and turn the handle for each letter going out. It would also count the operations for you so you had a total number of mailers. handy little thing.

What a cleverly-designed machine! Excellent restoration. I'm sure I can tackle a project like this: Disassembly - 5 hours Cleanup - 40 hours Re-assembly - 137 years, 2 months. Okay, maybe not.

Great job of painting, putting all 300,908 pieces back together and editing. I think If, after taking this machine apart and seeing how many pieces I had, I might have said, "sorry folks, I don't know what I was thinking. I'll see you next time with something much more manageable" But that's me!

Such intricate gears and wheels, quite an amazing piece of engineering. But why does the main base plate have an enormous HOLE in the middle??

Well done. I am impressed. Just curious, how did you clean up the white paint you put on with the toothpicks? I would have messed that up so badly.

Just a question, with parts like the base frame, why not just clean and sand to prep for repainting over old paint if that was in good condition? why need to remove old paint if it adhered well
