Loneliness can be a really painful experience. I've come to accept that I may never find anyone to properly connect with, and that doesn't help when you have terrible social anxiety. May be weird, but recently I had a dream one night and woke up sobbing, because even when sleeping am I still reminded of how lonely I am. That dream was a literal reflection of my life. I thought dreams weren't suppose to hit you that deep 😅 But in all seriousness, I'm trying my best to cope with my current situation. Not fun being faced with that lonely reminder every day, but who knows, maybe this'll be the first few steps to bettering myself. Thank you nonetheless for this video ♥

Dude I have the same dilemma with my dreams! In every dream I either have close friends or a girlfriend of some sort, but every time I wake up I grow upset. Just knowing that I was dreaming about being cool and likable was awesome and I never want it to end but it must. What's amazing is that sometimes I have different dreams featuring the same characters from previous dreams, but I've never met those people in real life.
Agreed social anxiety is the worst it makes it so hard to make new friends

For those of you who check some of these boxes like I have in the last year I highly recommend reading "Seek You. A Journey Through American Loneliness." It's an incredible novel and even if you aren't from the US, the struggles outlined in the book really put things into perspective and helped me to open up more and connect with people on a deeper level. My takeaway that helped to overcome that sinking pattern of loneliness was that being alone and being lonely aren't always mutually exclusive. There are people in groups, in relationships even who either aren't fully heard or who others fail to understand. Seeking out parts of yourself you wish to show and allowing others to see them is liberating. To an extension it does two things: It allows us to tailor things to become more attractive to ourselves and it allows us to differentiate what is helpful or harmful, creating strong boundaries. To those of you out there who are alone stay on the path. Perhaps one day we'll meet in a strange land. When we do I'll be the first to ask you about your journey.

I love how anime characters were shown in the video! I totally didn't expect that! The words 'loneliness is not about having any friends, it's about not having a close friend' hit really hard. I have a circle of friends but often, I find myself thinking 'do I even belong here?' or 'do I just choose to stay because if I don't I'd have nowhere else to go?' These are just some questions though that often pop up in my mind. There's this one girl, though. She's what I could call my best friend and yet, are we really best friends if I could not even bring myself to open up? I mean, isn't that what best friends do? Hahahaha... I think that it'd just be nice to have that someone who you can text at 3 am about useless stuff, or ask to a casual hangout or watch movies or something. Truly, it'd be so nice...

This video is very relatable. I already knew I was lonely but this just completely confirms it all. A lot of drama has been going on recently to the point where I actually want to be alone. I'm not friends with a person anymore just because I comforted someone they were pressuring, or in other words, drama. The girl I became friends with just started having drama. And the two people I was friends with for the longest just aren't talking to me or each other (I think) anymore. I never get to talk to my online friends because timing is always wrong. Not to mention, all my friends are online and I'm no longer the social type. I've been secretly going through things mentally and I couldn't think of anyone to talk to about it. According to my mom, I take long showers. And I most certainly overshare to have wrote all this about being lonely. In the end, this video just confirmed something I already knew.

Really is a tough journey and isn't easy. I dealt with rejection from acquaintances trying to fit in the right groups throughout life and continuously keep being rejected till this day. I though however feel grievance in my heart for those people but I forgive them. But I still look on the bright side despite whatever happens no matter what you're going through you aren't alone ❤ I was in a relationship and was engaged ready to get married this summer and dealt with a break up recently. Whoever the person reading this know that you're strong and the trials that you came through made you even more stronger. You are loved❤ Continue fighting and don't give up❤

I needed this. Thank you. I grew up with "strict" parents who never let me go anywhere with friends or anyone besides them. And if you can't tell, having only two people to talk to for your WHOLE childhood and the beginning of adulthood, isn't nice. I always felt envy in the people around me,always talking about how they had a sleepover with all of the girls,or even just talking about how the cafeteria food was. I was always the kid who nobody would talk to and had rumors spread all across the school about them, never good. I eventually went to online, because I could have a new chance and try again. Being someone who never talked to anyone and never devolved a personality I was very trusting,so of course someone took advantage of that, many did. I was manipulated into thinking that I couldn't trust myself anymore, and I was only like 12 when this was going on. This went on for 6 years. After I left I was an adult with my own money. So the first thing I ever bought was 20 trips to therapy. I felt better and left for a new state. Currently I am in college and building up the courage to go talk to someone in person at school for almost the first time.

I do get a little jealous when I hear other people that I know are making plans to do fun things that don’t really include me. I take FOREVER in the shower bc it feels too nice and I don’t get out of it for a while. There are sometimes when my friend can’t really text me so I can’t really turn to anyone when I’m having a bad day so I go to imaginary friends. I do tend to rant a lot about a topic when someone is willing to listen to what I have to say. I could relate to this too. As covid has been dying out, people have been trying to live their real lives again, and then this decreases the amount of online friends that you have. I miss having really good friends in the online world, but everyone's been trying to transition back to where things used to be, and I've gotten lonlier ever since. The reason why I don't have real life friends is complicated, and it hurts when you haven't had physical affection for years. I feel optimistic about getting new friends too. As in introvert I need a lot of time alone, but I can't name a single person I could meet with and open up to if I had a serious problem, to tell them how I feel. There is some sort of disconnection towards everyone, even towards people I'm happy to be able to call my friends. Whenever I try to be more honest, it repels people, so I only open up to a certain degree.

I believe that many of us will see ourselves in this video, but it doesn't always really help to end the loneliness. There are many great ideas, but has anyone thought of the people who can't drive to see friends. You might have medical issues that keep you inside for too many hours of the day. Then you try meeting people online, say a pen pal...then you find out they are scams, people looking to for money. I can honestly say that yes I am lonely, but I'm not going to get used or taken advantage of. No one should have this happen but it does and that made you feel more alone then before. I don't mind making new friends, but I tend to guard my heart, like many people in the world. I wish that this video could bring us all together, and share problems or just need some ones opinion. I wish us all the best in the world, and know that you are never alone when you have this channel.

Is it weird that because I don't have anyone to talk to I literally have conversations with myself. Pretending it's other ppl? I do it every single day. At work and at home

I do feel lonely for a long time, speaking about 4 years or more. What makes it worst is that nobody seems to care nor trustable enough for me to share with. Being lonely has given me opportunity to observe the behaviour of people around me, which is kinda cool I guess. I really envy people who can express their thoughts and feelings openly with others. I wish I could have someone who would trully willing to listen to me. I once even thought that I'd be really happy if someone were get to know me better. It's so frustating, depressing, and I just feel like the only person who feel this way. I gradually developed trust issues and negative thoughts in my head. I'm so sorry for bragging in the comment. It's just that I thought you could understand me. Thank you for your time reading this ☺

It's really hard to find someone you can trust, nowadays... Sometimes you only want to have someone who can sit with you & listen to every word your heart says...

I can relate to ALL these points , I feel them all on the daily since I lost my Hubby who was my Best Friend , he was the only person who love me for me . I don't have any friends and I never really had a female Best Friend and I don't feel close to my brothers we have nothing in common.

Huge difference in lonely and alone. I used to be the former, but now I’m the latter. Given enough time, anyone can accept that they do not need others in their lives to get by.

I feel that I haven’t been social as of late. I feel bored most since there’s nothing to do or anyone to hang out. But when I do try to talk to people in person, they just leave me off the dust and don’t want anything to do with me.

It's funny how I've known I've been lonely for roughly 16 years, as even when I was little I felt weird but didn't know why. I've kinda always been lonely, which is why I'm happy when I get to hang out and talk to my friends, because then they make me forget every once in a while how lonely I feel

This is the one video where I can say that I relate to every point… I knew I was lonely but actually basically confirming it hits different. I learned from my ex that the only thing for me that helps is affection, and god knows I have no one for that anymore. Maybe people are right, I should stop having feelings? Idk

Just some feedback, I think a good set of videos related to this could be tips on how to resolve feeling lonely, as it can be difficult to know how to reduce feeling alone. 💡Might be really helpful for people struggling to break free from loneliness. 🙂Also, liked the Sailor Moon reference at 0:50, very cute. ☺
