It's a mix of TVPaint and some that are drawn entirely on paper. These paper animations are scanned on the computer and composited digitally, and may have color corrections made. For example, the clip at 0:26 was draw on on hundreds of 3 x 5 index cards. I drew this loop with pens, colored pencils, markers and crayons. After scanning the drawings, I inverted the colors to make the white paper black and give the impression that the animation happens in some underwater, otherworldly realm.

@@2DAnimax It depends on the effect you're going for. There's a certain textural quality to physical media that can't be captured 100% with digital tools. For the most part, I animate digitally now, but switching up the animation tools changes how you think and draw. It's good to have options.
