I'm 27 now but when I was 13 living in the ghetto I was robbing drug dealers in other neighborhoods. By 16 I was pimping girls out older than my parents. By 18 I was making 100k a month selling drugs and pimping. I thought my cousin was crazy for taking lsd and shrooms and he was always positive. He begged me to take some shrooms that I won't regret it. At 19 I took 3 grams and man it changed my life. I felt the pain I was causing to other people and reflected on myself. After the experience I felt really different. I had empathy towards people. I stopped sleeping around and it cured my depression. I'm 27 now and have my own lawn maintenance business making around 300k a year and I'm happily married. This stuff is like magic! I'm looking forward to the future of this medicine!

The treatment figures around quitting smoking are mind-blowing, microdosing seems something that humanity would hugely benefit from. I would be leery of all the numbers and percentages they throw out there. There are really no legit bodies doing proper studies on this topic and although Tim is very passionate about this topic and it severely biases his perspective as the results don't fare much better than placebos. The science should be based on something better than some lady who has an anecdote and calls it an experiment. Don't get me wrong I would really like to see these things be a cure-all for depression, ptsd etc. etc. but they don't publish any of the negative data ( and there is negative data) and they overhype the positive. Maybe this will be a real thing down the road but right now the evidence is not all in.

Thank you for helping create opportunities for healthy, much needed SHIFT in awareness regarding the use of psychadelic modalities. I believe the intentional, responsible use of psychadelics should be supported by our mainstream health care system, but not completely controlled by it. There is tremendous opportunity to solidly bridge the "traditional" healthcare system with the perceived "alternative" health care systems in ways which can support optimum therapeutic benefits. This panel did a wonderful job, outlining valid concerns while still expressing the need for the safe fluid utilization of the very powerful psychadelic agents for much needed, healthy, individual and largely social change.

I'm halfway through and now they talk about MDMA so I feel like I need to share my observations. As someone who used a lot of mdma and got depressed by, have seen many people getting missed up by it as well( I takes weeks to rebuild serotonin..) I would say be very very careful when taking it. Most of couples I know who started doing mdma as a bonding tool has turned to chemsex . It's great on the begging but in case of my ex relationship it turned to hell. Seriously saying that mdma is so good for you it's dangerous. I do like to take it, but not more than once a year . There is a balance in the nature and if you take too much you are going to pay. Srsl I do believe in therapeutic benefits of mdma but it should be taken in caution and best in a company of a therapist

Using it judiciously with a trained and experienced Psychotherapist as a way to move through trauma experiences is really beneficial provided there is regular integration therapy afterwords. And when you get to the day where you take your dose, and feel tired or the feel of starting a trip, then take the dose down a little and that is your micro dose. I took my 1st dose today and I think it was about .12 (scale is cheap so I’m not sure. It was about half a capsule) and I feel pressure in my head and behind my eyeballs and in my sinuses. Have you ever experienced flashbacks, Like seeing things melt in a hallucination, six months later? Some might say this is a minor aftertaste, like enjoying the burp on its way out. How about parallel hallucinations, you and your friends see the same hallucination at the same time? My biggest fear with psychedelics is overdosing. I'm glad this was touched upon, mentioning Syd Barrett from Pink Floyd. Basically if you overdose, your trip never ends for the rest of your life. This is probably a bigger problem as an underground market, yet is that risk being assessed realistically? Quoting a low overdose statistic is not really useful because the number of users is so small compared to how many folks are drinking alcohol or smoking weed. I experimented with LSD blotter as a teenager but I am not interested now because of my fear of an overdose. At best I am curious about micro dosing, I could see how that would temporarily be exhilarating. But I wonder if you build up a tolerance, need bigger doses then risk overdose under controlled dosage strength too?
@HeyLiem5 жыл бұрын
@Daniel Wuwei May I politely disagree, please? Let's err on the side of a weaker dose. I have never heard anyone say it is impossible to overdose on psychedelics before now. Maybe a psychedelic overdose will not kill the life in your body but it certainly can destroy your ability to think and navigate life normally, independently. If a psychedelic overdose can ruin the rest of your life, I think that is reasonable to fear an overdose, as strongly feared as if it will end the life in your body. Here is a quick link to thoughts about some famous musicians who infamously overdosed on psychedelics. www.wow247.co.uk/2015/07/17/bad-trip-brian-wilson-acid-casualty-sixties/ Sometimes folks feel enlightened by psychedelics. Is that enlightenment merely a long-term hallucination itself? Don't get fooled. I used to think that psychedelics make your brain work super fast, causing sensory illusions, hallucinations. I used to think that psychedelics let you cut through the veil of physical reality, as if physical reality is an illusion. Then I heard that when you die, your brain slows down and dies, often you see a bright light as this happens. I think that psychedelics make your brain slow down, makes your brain act more like a dying brain. So I now say it is not worth the risk, too risky to make your brain go through the motions of dying. Microgram measurements are new to me, sounds pretty precise to me. We used to take a tiny piece shaped like a mechanical pencil lead, about 1/16" tall. Most of the time we took it on paper, measured by how many squares of the sheet of paper you received.
@TheCabbageMan5 жыл бұрын
This is not how psychedelics work. There is 0 SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE that psychedelics cause persisting psychedelic effects even after the trip is over. HOWEVER, PTSD and other problems can be developed if you suffer powerful and bad trips. This is not to say everyone will develop it or not developed it. I highly suggest watching PsychedSubstance for amazing information on harm reduction as well as the real possible negative consequences. This is especially important for breakthrough doses on substances like DMT. He has s great video on his worst trip which was with DMT where after the trip he had severely negative mental and emotional side effects due to what he experienced during the trip. Because what you experience can be so real it can cause problems like PTSD and other anxiety/stress problems just like if you experienced intense battle in a warzone. Psychedelic overdose does exist but the LD50 is so high for the classic three (psilocin, lsd, dmt) that you have a much higher chance of experiencing psychosis and hurting yourself physically than dying or being harmed by these drugs physically.
@trolloroo98074 жыл бұрын
Where exactly have you seen a research or an experience from someone you know that shows LSD/Psilocybine would cause everlasting effects in bigger dozes? With LSD the standard "lift off" doze is about 100 micrograms, a decent trip for sure. I've seen a guy fail an almost full bottle of LSD (over 90+ dozes each 100micrograms so a total of 9000+ micrograms) all over his hands and bare skin (it does absorb through skin as well). He was tripping hard for a good 3 days at least but eventually returned perfectly normal after that (normal trip length is about 8-12 hours). His other party styled drug use did lessen after the experience though and those days tripping felt quite long from his perspective for sure :D So in essence I must agree with eqnawr gītikā on this one, however I would strongly suggest healthy caution on dozes with these substances and overall I would recommend mushrooms (psilocybine) over LSD since there's no data on long term effects of LSD but mushrooms have been used by humans for a long time and there's a very plausible theory that mushrooms have played a huge role in the evolution of our consciousness and brain.

Troll oroo , I recommend any KZbin documentary about Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett. This is a famous case that we all can see the eyewitness testimony from his friends, Syd lost his mind due to psychedelic drugs being taken too much. I think the Beatles broke up over too many psychedelic trips. Listen to the ugly "music" from Lennon and Yoko. I caution that any wanting to do psychedelics is coming from a sad background in life that getting high helps you forget, but forget only while being high. Few podcast listeners have access to trustworthy and precise clinical dosage sizes and psychedelic trip babysitters. The sober trip babysitter is perhaps the best idea that can be promoted on this podcast. Like a designated driver. Tiny doses might just tickle your senses, this might be enjoyable if it only remains a tiny doses. Most of us I would quickly choose to experiment with larger doses. From personal experience and observation of famous psychedelic users, I think it also makes your personality turn dark and twisted, the more you do it, and you might not even realize it while it's happening. I see the reports of clinical use that helps post traumatic stress syndrome victims, I am not against this if it is actually working for that end. Most users are recreational and there is no end except to escape sobriety and go on a trip. My personal experiences are from around 1980, micro dog and blotter doses. We had no idea how accurate or trustworthy these doses were. I would recommend smoking weed over any other form of getting high as the safest. Alcohol makes people violent. Psychedelics can destroy your mind. Downers can stop your heart. Smoking too much weed makes you overeat and take a nap.

@@HeyLiem Yes well we are all individuals and it is known that people with difficult depression or Schizophrenia doesn't take it kind when it's tripping time. What you are talking about is continual disabuse of a drug - what I'm talking about is the possibility of overdosing single time that would cause you to "trip forever", which to me in the light of research data is pretty baseless argument. There's almost nothing that you can't do too much or not get addicted to except taking a piss or a shit since you have to do it anyway. And tbh personally I feel like LSD and any laboratory produced drugs which include our depression drugs and mood altering chemicals are a perilous path in general that you should tread with great care. But then if you look upon psilocybine for example it's inherently anti-addictive. It has thousands of years of tradition in cultures and evolution. LSD is a compound found some decades ago, which is a drop in the ocean in comparison when you think of the timeline and how much interaction the human biology and brain has had the chance to have through the time with compounds found in certain plants. And yes I know about Pink Floyd and the downfall it's original "brain" and I love the band and their music, but there are plenty of other LSD -heads from the 60s and 70s who didn't turn all dark and still live decent lives. But then there's someone like Anthony Bourdain who was known to use loads of LSD back in the day and without any outward warning of his behavior etc. the guy just hangs himself suddenly (in 2018). So who's to say what LSD can do to you especially in the long term, but fearing a "never ending trip" from a too high dose for a single trip is not the most logical one to be fair. I have also experienced both LSD and mushrooms and all I can say I got deep insight of both, but somehow LSD feels something different, something not quite right somehow and I can't really put my finger on it. But I truly believe if everyone had a mushroom trip even once in their lifetime it would make the world a much better place :D Thank you for your answer I wish all the good for you, I hope that you see that I more or less agree with you on this, not disagree, but I'm often pretty precise on what I comment and in retrospect I can see how my comment must've looked like some kind of "defend the psychedelics movement" sort of comment ha!

I am;desperate but anxious, i never smoked hash, but a dealer friend gave us one knob of supposed hash we think it was skunk. But I hallucinated on it, nothing nice, just people changing into monsters and the room becoming engulfing, I was terrified and that was just hash! Since then I have been terrified of psychedelics. A psychiatRist warned me about ever taking lsd, and to make sure nobody put it ina drink I had. However since then, Inhave had lyme disease and lyme depression which is very bad as are the anxiety attacks and now also ptsd because our house burnt down. I just want to die. Drug resistent I cry most of every day and am bed ridden, cxonsequently I have ordered microdose psylicybin half scared but desperate. Should I worry? Everybody talks a out it but nobody says how to take it. Do yo cook it just eat it make tea with it? Are there differnt forms is it just tiny mushrooms is it spores I have to grow?

@@jerryfrick2576 I would highly recommend anyone to use psilocybin in microdoses to combat PTSD and any anxiety, anger or other ailments that may be stemming from the PTSD. It has changed my life for the better. The mushrooms are insanely easy to get through this plug instagram.com/p/CRYJSLmB-o0/? the best place to start psychedelics theray. Fuck all these medications the VA will try to shove down your throat that turns you into a mindless zombie. There are multiple studies showing that psilocybin is effective at treating PTSD, addiction, anxiety, depression, and other ailments, and I'm positive that within a few years it will be used in therapy and hopefully will be decriminalized. I hope that you find your inner peace & happiness mate❤️

Dang, I lost respect for you now Tim. Why would you be promoting illegal drugs, I always saw you as a principled man who didn't need enlightment from an external drug.
@nickmatthews76005 жыл бұрын
I'm sure Tim was really hurt by your loss of respect for him. Are you living under a rock? 90% of what he promotes are external drugs, you're just butt hurt because hes not talking about one that you consider "illegal" - get off your high horse. He's promoted nootropics, ketogenic supplements, caffeine, etc. These are all external substances - neither these nor the "illegal" drugs you are talking about are a magic pill. Like any substance, you are still required to do be responsible in their use and ways of integrating them. Grow up, these external drugs have a potentially huge benefit to people who do not wish to use poorly researched and understood "legal" drugs like mood stabilizers, antidepressants, etc.
