Hey Jeff, love the videos! Just wanted to pass on an idea for an unfazed fat episode - what do you think about a video where you guys discuss maybe budget alternatives to some of the more expensive cards in the format? For example a discussion on an alternative to something costly and rare like Guzma And Hala (like colress tenacity which does a similar function, but is a fraction of the price and a lot more common). Might be a cool topic for people that are on a budget and new to the format who are also starting to get interested in the more meta style decks? I sorta see this issue a lot where someone who's new, starts looking up decklists, realizes that the cards that are in the lists are expensive, and then they hit a wall because they don't have the money or game knowledge to know what an alternative to those cards are. Anyways, thanks for the content!

That's a sweet idea! I'll talk with Josh and see what how he feels about it too. Cards like Roserade and Shining Genesect come to mind immediately. I wonder if we'd have enough to talk about though.

shauna, cynthia, ball guy, arven, arezu, and glorai are all great options for beginners. i do not like to see a beginner discard cards so i take anything out that makes them think that much about it. keep it simple. take out boss order or guzma and both players will be able to rest easily knowing they can build up a pokemon and attack. energy placement is one thing they have to learn and if the pokemon they worked so hard to build up dies because you boss order it up then they won't have a fun time. keep it nice. don't put THE strongest pokemon in as well. dynamotor effects are totally fine but wailord might not be nice, or dragapult and togekiss either.....

@@allaboutthatbaisch Sweet! I think getting into type specific stuff definitely opens up a lot of options. One card I was wondering about an alternative to the other day was Arcanine from unbroken bonds. I was surprised to see that it was a $10-15 card on Ebay. I have some ideas for swap outs but yeah, what would be the most optimal and cost effective replacement for that? Or yeah Shining Mew for that new Smoochum might be a good one. Maybe some beginner looks at old lists and thinks they need that card, but unfortunately, they don't have the game knowledge to know Smoochum exists. Thanks for the reply!

Not on live yet, but there’s an automated online sim called twinleaf where you can play GLC now.
