Hi Brooke, thank you so much for this video! Such a great explanation of the thought processes that led you to choose La Trobe for honours. This has further solidified my decision to do the same if I get in. Currently, I'm in the 'waiting and waiting' portion of this process. I've just completed my bachelor at RMIT (same place as you!) where I have fortunately been accepted. I called Latrobe earlier this week (aprox 11th of December) and they said that most of the offers have still not been sent out yet. It's the 16th now and still haven't heard anything. Is there any chance you remember when you got your offer? My WAM is 79 btw but I'm guessing that yours was higher as you seem to be a badass! My other question: Would it be most responsible to act as though I will be doing my honours at RMIT and lock down my desired supervisor/project in case I don't get an offer from Latrobe? This may be silly but I have a great relationship with this RMIT professor and kind of hate the idea of organising a project with him and then saying 'actually I got another offer so cya!' Would really appreciate your advice here, thanks again for the great video :)

Hello! Sorry for the late reply. I got my honours offers from La Trobe and RMIT late January! Unfortunately cannot remember when I got the Swinburne and ACU ones. RMIT was super behind on sending offers out that year. How did you go with it all? I hope it worked out supervisor wise! Definitely not a silly question. The whole process is so confusing and even if offers are behind we still understandably feel like we need to be ahead of the game. A month ago I would have said to definitely reach out to that supervisor and discuss potential projects if you were to get in. There's also no shame in being honest that you're still waiting for a spot. You would hope they understand what a long and competitive process it all is. Even if you didn't do this, I'm sure something else worked itself out another way :) 79 is also terrific!!!! Well done.

Hey Brooke, thank you for the considered and encouraging response. I managed to scrape my way into La Trobe mid-February! Submitted my research proposal last week. Really enjoying it so far, thought I’d get the dregs of project choices (eg. forced to learn about dog behaviour, love dogs but please no) but I couldn’t be happier with my highly clinical topic and supervisor. Advance assessment and intervention with Kate is great too, I assume you had her for that too? Hope your masters is going well, I’m sure you’re crushing it!

Hi Brooke, thanks so much for sharing your experience! I’m currently in my third-year undergrad at RMIT and have been eyeing other unis for honours 😂 My end goal isn’t Masters but a research PhD so I’m aiming for an honours program that could set me up well for a research career. I have a small question about honours offers: I heard that the list of research projects/supervisors would only be sent to us after we accept the honours offer. Were you able to accept offers at a few schools at once, have a look at their list of projects/supervisors, and withdraw your acceptance if you weren’t keen with the options? From your video it sounds like this was the case. Thank you in advance!

Hello! Yes, that was the case for me :) I remember wondering the same thing and thinking that if I accepted a course the other universities would somehow know or it would cancel out any future offers haha. All the best!

Hey. Great vid! Subscribed. Really enjoyed your info, as I'm applying to Latrobe hons for next year. Do you mind sharing what the cutoff was to get in?

Hi, thank you! I'm not sure what the cut off was but I knew some students who got in with high 60s. The cut off changes every year so it is hard to judge. Just do your absolute best and apply everywhere! All the best :)

Hii I want to know I am going for 2024 intake ,ba of psychology (honours) can u please tell me hi to apply online I tried applying online ,but when there is a option - find and program and write a keyword and i am writing psychology but it’s not finding any programs so can u please tell me how to apply online
